Air Greenland Signs Lease Agreement for Airbus A320neo with Carlyle

Air Greenland has finalised a lease agreement with Carlyle for an Airbus A320neo, set to enter service in spring 2027. The six-year lease, with an option for extension, will allow Air Greenland to introduce a new route connecting Ilulissat and Copenhagen, complementing its existing A330neo operations. The aircraft, scheduled for delivery in December 2026, will be tailored to Greenlandic conditions and coincide with the opening of North Greenland’s new international airport, which features a 2,200-metre runway and is expected to boost regional air connectivity.

 

Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) Shareholders Approve Acquisition by DAE

Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) shareholders have voted in favour of the company's acquisition by Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), with over 85% approving the $2 billion transaction. The deal, which includes NAC’s outstanding debt, is expected to be finalised in the first half of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions. NAC President & CEO Norman C.T. Liu highlighted the company’s improved financial position and fleet restructuring as key factors enhancing its attractiveness for acquisition, expressing appreciation for stakeholders’ continued support during the transition.

 

SMBC Aviation Capital Signs Lease Agreements with Thai Airways for 8 Airbus A321neo Aircraft

SMBC Aviation Capital has reached an agreement with Thai Airways to lease eight Airbus A321neo aircraft, with deliveries scheduled between 2026 and 2027. The aircraft, sourced from SMBC Aviation Capital’s Airbus order book, will strengthen Thai Airways’ regional expansion by enhancing its narrowbody fleet. Conor Stafford, SMBC Aviation Capital’s Head of Airline Marketing, emphasised the A321neo’s role in boosting operational efficiency, passenger comfort, and sustainability, reinforcing the long-term collaboration between SMBC and Thai Airways.
