Air India has announced a major upgrade to its Delhi-Tokyo route, shifting operations from Narita International Airport (NRT) to Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) starting 31 March 2025. The move is expected to provide faster, more convenient access to central Tokyo. BLR Airport Introduces Aerial View Display (AVD) System
Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) has launched an Aerial View Display (AVD) System, a real-time monitoring tool designed to enhance airside operational efficiency and safety. The system enables centralised visibility of key airport activities, including flight movements, vehicle coordination, and taxiing operations, all monitored from the Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC). By tracking flights via flight numbers instead of ATC call signs, the system streamlines decision-making processes and improves situational awareness. BIAL COO Satyaki Raghunath emphasised the technology’s role in optimising airport operations, reducing emissions, and improving sustainability standards.

This exclusive new route is expected to boost trade and tourism between South India and Northern Sri Lanka, complementing the success of IndiGo’s Chennai-Jaffna service. IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, Vinay Malhotra, noted that the airline now operates over 60 weekly flights to Sri Lanka from five Indian cities, reinforcing IndiGo’s commitment to strengthening regional air connectivity.

Acumen recognises this as an important advancement in airport management, setting a benchmark for other Indian airports.
On IndiGo’s New Tiruchirappalli-Jaffna Route
