Avelo Airlines Announces Largest Expansion in Company History

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) Delivers First Airbus A220-300 to Croatia Airlines

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) announced the delivery of one new Airbus A220-300 aircraft to Croatia Airlines. This is the first A220 to join the Croatian carrier’s fleet and the first of six new Airbus A220 aircraft confirmed to deliver to the airline from ALC’s orderbook with Airbus.

Air Lease Corporation Executive Chairman, Steven F. Udvar-Házy said “Air Lease Corporation is honoured to have been selected by Croatia Airlines as the first Lessor to introduce the A220 to the airline and support Croatia’s major fleet modernization program. This milestone first of six new A220 delivery is a wonderful achievement that commences the fleet transformation at Croatia Airlines.”

 

Allegiant Announces President Greg Anderson as Next CEO

Allegiant Travel Company announced that Gregory C. Anderson has been named CEO and President of the Company succeeding Maurice J. Gallagher, who will be retiring from that role effective September 1. Gallagher will continue to serve the Company as Executive Chairman of the Board.

Avelo Airlines Announces Largest Expansion in Company History

Avelo Airlines announced the largest expansion in company history with 18 nonstop routes, the airline’s first scheduled international service to two destinations: Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cancun, Mexico, and the establishment of dual operations at Avelo’s Connecticut and Central Florida bases. In addition to the two new international destinations, Avelo will begin serving Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport (BDL) this fall basing two aircraft in Hartford.

Southwest Airlines Launches Enhancements to Transform Customer Experience

Southwest Airlines announced several new initiatives designed to elevate the Customer experience as part of its strategic transformation. Southwest decided it will assign seats and offer premium seating options on all flights. Southwest Airlines has been known for its unique open seating model for more than 50 years, but stated preferences have evolved with more customers are taking longer flights where a seat assignment is preferred.  In addition will launch a premium, extended legroom portion of the cabin.

Southwest Airlines President, CEO, & Vice Chairman of the Board Bob Jordan, said “Moving to assigned seating and offering premium legroom options will be a transformational change that cuts across almost all aspects of the Company. Although our unique open seating model has been a part of Southwest Airlines since our inception, our thoughtful and extensive research makes it clear this is the right choice— at the right time—for our Customers, our People, and our Shareholders. We are excited to incorporate Customer and Employee feedback to design a unique experience that only Southwest can deliver. We have been building purposefully to this change as part of a comprehensive upgrade to the Southwest experience as we focus on Customer expectations – and it will unlock new sources of revenue consistent with our laser focus on delivering improved financial performance."
