Air Canada Selects GEnx-1B Engines for 787-10 Fleet
Air Canada announced it has ordered 36 GEnx-1B engines plus four spares to power its Boeing 787-10 aircraft on order and includes options for an additional 24 GEnx-1B engines. Vice President, GE Commercial Programs for GE Aerospace Kathy MacKenzie said, “GE Aerospace is honoured Air Canada continues to put its trust in our GEnx engine and we look forward to working together to introduce the engines into Air Canada’s fleet.”
Delta announces new Atlanta to Tulum route
Delta announced a new route Atlanta to Tulum, Mexico operating daily from 28 March 2024 operated by a three class 160-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Delta S.V.P. of Network Planning Joe Esposito stated, “Delta is uniquely positioned to give customers convenient and direct access from the U.S. to Tulum, a premium leisure destination known for its boutique hotels, Mayan ruins and eco-friendly spirit.”
New Embraer E175s for Envoy Air ordered by American Airlines
American Airlines announced signature of a firm order with Embraer for four new E175s in contract valued at $230.6 million at list price. The four aircraft will be delivered in 2024Q4 operated by American’s wholly owned subsidiary, Envoy Air. Envoy President & CEO Pedro Fábregas, said “These new jets will allow us to continue growing with American Airlines. We’re pleased to announce these additional four aircraft, following the order announced in June, as the US domestic and regional markets recover from a very challenging few years. The E175 allows us to provide an excellent and reliable service to American Airlines and the thousands of guests we serve everyday.”
Eviation announces Letter of Intent with flyVbird
Eviation Aircraft announced that flyVbird, an emerging on-demand regional airline, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for 25 Alice aircraft, with options for a further 25 aircraft, powered by two magni650 electric propulsion units. Eviation Vice President Commercial Sales, Eddie Jaisaree said "The European Union is moving forward with ambitious new rules aimed at decarbonizing the aviation industry. The Alice is the innovative and beautifully designed aircraft needed to lead aerospace's transition to net zero carbon emissions. We are very pleased to partner with flyVbird in the future of flight."
