Air China boosts capacity on Athens International Airport (AIA)-Beijing route

Air China is to significantly boost capacity between Athens International Airport (AIA) and Beijing by 128% from 1st April increasing frequency from three to five times weekly and deploying Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the route replacing Airbus A330-200 currently in operation. The Greek National Tourism Organization's general director Sofia Lazaridou said "AIA is China- ready. As of summer 2024, two robots will be welcoming Chinese travellers, providing information about the airport, Athens, and Greece in Chinese."

China Southern Airlines and Lufthansa Technik sign exclusive A350 APU Contract

China Southern Airlines and Lufthansa Technik have announced signature of   an exclusive eight-year contract regarding the technical support for the auxiliary power units (APUs) of the Chinese carrier’s A350 fleet of currently 20 aircraft. Under the long-term agreement, Lufthansa Technik will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the Honeywell HGT1700 in the company’s specialized APU workshops in Hamburg, Germany.

 

US Department Of Transportation (US DOT) increases China market cap

The US Department Of Transportation (US DOT) announced it increased the number of flights permitted by Chinese airlines between China and United States from 35 to 50 weekly flights Before the pandemic, China and the U.S. could each operate 150 flights weekly between their countries.
