Air India CEO predicts need for more hubs in India
Air India CEO Campell Wilson predicts the need for more hubs in India due to rapid growth. The country could potentially accommodate at least one additional international hub in addition to Delhi and Mumbai. He added noted that northern India exhibits a strong east to west travel flow, while southern India could facilitate travel between Asia and Africa or Australia and Europe. Indian carriers have collectively ordered over 1,100 aircraft. Moreover, investments totalling $12 billion are being directed toward constructing more than 72 new airports by 2025.
Bangalore International Airport and CleanMax collaboration
Bangalore International Airport and CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions have signed a 25-year long-term power purchase agreement for the generation and supply of renewable energy from a 45.9 MW solar-wind captive power project under a SPV. The captive power project set up in the solar-wind farm located in Jagaluru, Karnataka, owned and operated by CleanMax, will consist of 36 MWp of solar power and 9.9 MW of wind power plants and is expected to cut down a whopping 54,88,000 tons approx. of CO2 equivalent.

Considering our expansion plans, we have undertaken a variety of steps to deploy onsite renewable energy generation systems, offsite renewable power procurement, to sustain our 100% renewable electricity consumption. The long-term power purchase agreement with CleanMax will play an important role in meeting the renewable energy needs for the expansion program of the airport and shall provide substantial cost savings, further bolstering our commitment to sustainability and responsible growth."
IndiGo announces Agatti as the 88th domestic destination
IndiGo announced the addition of Agatti as the 88th domestic destination and 121st overall destination on its network. The new route will commence on 31 March operating daily, strengthening connectivity to and from Lakshadweep, creating new tourism opportunities.
IndiGo Head of Global Sales Vinay Malhotra, said, “We are excited to announce Lakshadweep, India’s smallest Union Territory, as IndiGo's 88th domestic destination.
