Alaska Airlines announces investment in JetZero
Alaska Airlines announced an investment in JetZero, a pioneering company developing a new blended-wing body (BWB) aircraft that will provide up to 50% less fuel burn and lower emissions. The investment, which includes options for future aircraft orders, was made through Alaska Star Ventures (ASV), the airline's investment arm whose purpose is to influence the future of the aviation industry. Alaska Airlines senior vice president of public affairs and sustainability, Diana Birkett Rakow said "At Alaska, we are always looking for ways to innovate and shape the future of air travel for our guests, employees, and industry. We are proud to invest in JetZero's development of this innovative next-generation aircraft, with a significant step-change in fuel efficiency. We and JetZero share a vision for more sustainable aviation, and we are excited to partner with them in creating that future."
Air Lease Corporation (ALC) Delivers First of Ten New Boeing 787-10 Aircraft to Korean Air
Air Lease Corporation announced the delivery of one new Boeing 787-10 to Korean Air. This aircraft is the first of ten 787-10s confirmed to deliver to the Korean flag carrier from ALC’s orderbook with Boeing. Air Lease Corporation CEO & President John L. Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) Delivers Boeing 767-300F to Euroavia Airlines
Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) announced today that its subsidiary, Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM), has leased a Boeing 767-300 converted freighter to New York-based SLG Worldwide, who will sublease the aircraft to Euroavia Airline based in Larnaca, Cyprus. Air Transport Services Group CEO Mike Berge , said “SLG Worldwide is an experienced provider of logistics and aviation services around the world. Our leasing arrangement with SLG Worldwide in support of a new cargo airline exemplifies the attractiveness of our Lease+Plus package. We can support a new carrier with access to multiple services, including maintenance, ensuring timely delivery of additional capacity to the Eurasia markets.”
Commuteair Launches New Embraer 170 Charter Services
CommuteAir announced that its 76-seat Embraer E170 aircraft has officially received FAA certification and is now available in charter service market for college or high school sports teams, VIP travel, entertainment groups, casino or hotel charters, corporate shuttles. The aircraft features comfortable 2×2 leather seating, two flight attendants, and two lavatories. CommuteAir President & CEO, Rick Hoefling stated “The certification of our new E170 highlights the dedication and hard work of our team, reflecting our commitment to excellence and innovation.
