Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI) announced it has completed its 600th freighter conversion in the company’s 65th year. The Boeing 737-800 msn 28235 is owned by GA Telesis was modified by Commercial Jet Inc at company’s Florida facility in Miami, a partner of AEI. AEI President Roy Sandri said “We are thrilled to reach this milestone and couldn’t have made it without the dedication of our employees, the responsiveness of our vendor partners, and the trust earned from our customers. By consistently delivering robust and reliable freighter conversion products, AEI has grown to become the most widely recognized and respected independent conversion company in the industry.”
American Airlines expands European network for Summer 2024
American Airlines announced significant expansion of its European route network for Summer 2024 from its Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth and Philadelphia hubs. The carrier will reinstate its Chicago to Venice route and launch a new route between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Barcelona and from its Philadelphia hub to Copenhagen, Naples, and Nice. The routes will be operated by Boeing 787-8 and Boeing 787-9 aircraft. American Airlines Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, Brian Znotins said “American is thrilled to add three new European destinations. New service from Philadelphia and expanded trans-Atlantic service from Chicago and Dallas-Fort Worth will offer customers convenient one-stop access from more than 200 unique destinations across the U.S. to Europe next summer.”
Boeing and Joramco announce Boeing Boeing 737-800BCF Line in Jordan
Boeing and Joramco have announced an agreement to establish a new Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter (BCF) line in Amman, Jordan. The new line will cater to domestic and international markets in across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Europe, Middle East, and North Africa. Boeing Commercial Programs Vice President of Engineering Services, Converted Freighters and Sub-Components Mike Doellefeld said “We continue to look for opportunities to bring freighter conversion capacity closer to our customers. Connecting with Joramco reflects the potential of a growing region combined with an MRO partner capable of producing the BCF with the quality our customers expect.”
Lynx Airlines launches Toronto to LAX route
Lynx Airlines launched its new Toronto Pearson International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport as part of the rapid expansion of the airline’s Toronto base expansion. By year end the carrier will grow its North American route network by 260%, with 22,000 seats per week from its Toronto base. Lynx Air CEO Merren McArthur, said “Toronto is our fastest growing hub because it has historically been underserved by low-cost carriers and that means airfares have been too high for too long.”
