Cathay Cargo reinstates Saigon route
Cathay Cargo announced it has resumed freighter flights to Ho Chi Minh Vietnam after absence of four years. The service will operate weekly routing Hong Kong - Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh - Hong Kong supplementing Cathay’s six times weekly freighter service from Hanoi to Hong Kong.
Cathay Regional Head of Cargo, Southeast Asia Ashish Kapur said “We are very excited to welcome our freighter back to Ho Chi Minh City again. With factory activities resuming and air cargo demand picking up, it is timely for us to resume our freighter service from the economic heart of Vietnam. Together with our existing twice daily passenger flights serving the city, the addition of our freighter service will give local businesses more choices, especially in terms of our specialised solutions that can be tailored to suit their needs. Whether it is the latest fashion wear from the factories, fresh dragon fruit from the farms or live seafood from the ocean, we are committed to partnering with them on their journey to bring the best of Vietnam to Hong Kong and the rest of the world.”
EHang secures production certificate from CAAC
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has issued a production certificate to EHang, for its EH216-S passenger-carrying pilotless electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft , clearing the way for the company to start large-scale series production of its EH216-S autonomous eVTOL aircraft.
EHang CEO Huazhi Hu said, “The issuance of the PC is pivotal for the EH216-S as it opens the door to mass production, and a crucial step for our advancement towards commercial operations. As of today, the EH216-S has secured the TC, PC, and Standard AC from the CAAC. All the notable accomplishments relied on the collaboration and tireless efforts of the CAAC’s expert team and EHang’s team, and reflected our collective innovation, wisdom and expertise in aircraft design, manufacturing, quality management and other fields. With the PC as the starting point, we are poised to gradually expand production and delivery to meet escalating market demands. Our vision is to introduce safe and reliable pilotless eVTOL aircraft to the global market, thereby offering safe, autonomous and eco-friendly air mobility services to everyone.”
Hainan Airlines restores Beijing-Prague route
Hainan Airlines has announced the resumption of direct flights between Beijing and Prague commencing 24 June, operating three times weekly using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The route was secured after a successful meeting in Beijing, where the delegation was led by the chairman of the board of Prague Airport, Mr. Jiří Pos, accompanied by the ambassador of the Czech Republic in Beijing, Mr. Martin Tomčo, and economic diplomat Mr. Adam Kupka.
