Air China announced the carrier is increasing between Budapest and Beijing from two to three times weekly to meet increasing market demand for capacity.

Cathay Pacific announced the addition of three new partners to its Sustainable Aviation Fuel programme Dimerco Express Group and Yusen Logistics, as well as the programme’s first non-governmental organisation (NGO) partner Business Environment Council. Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam said “Cathay is undertaking a multi-pronged approach to contribute to the aviation industry’s transition towards a greener future. SAF is an important facet of this approach, and we have received strong support from our corporate and cargo customers since the launch of our Corporate SAF Programme. We have also established new SAF supply partnerships in the broader Asia region to convey a clear message to the SAF supply chain that there is firm demand from this part of the world.”

China’s AG60E electric aircraft milestone

China announced the successful maiden flight of its homegrown electric airplane, the AG60E. The aircraft was developed by China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co. Ltd., the AG60E is an electrically modified version of the AG60, an all-metal, two-seater, single-engine sports aircraft that first took to the skies in 2020. This transition from traditional aviation fuel to electric power is a notable step towards reducing the carbon footprint of air travel, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change.
