Avolon raising record $8.5bn to fuel CIT jet leasing takeover
Dublin-headquartered aircraft lessor Avolon is raising $3 billion through a bond issue to help fund the $10 billion acquisition of the aircraft leasing business of CIT Group. Avolon, now owned by China-based HNA’s Bohai aircraft leasing unit, sealed a deal last October to buy CIT’s assets, a transaction that will effectively double the size of Avolon's fleet.
BOC Aviation delivers fifth Boeing 737-800 to China Airlines
BOC Aviation delivered the fifth of six Boeing 737-800 aircraft to China Airlines. This aircraft is from the Company's existing order book.
CALC Announces Operational Data for the Year of 2016
China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited announced the operational data for the year ended 31 December 2016. As at 31 December 2016, CALC owns a portfolio of 81 aircraft. CALC’s clientele included 16 airlines in 5 countries and regions throughout the world. The Group expects to deliver not less than 17 new aircraft in 2017 and has an order book of not less than 92 aircraft to be delivered by 2022.
CDB Aviation Lease Finance grows executive team
CDB Aviation Lease Finance (CDBALF) has added three new members to its executive team; Rob Murphy will join the company as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer; Pat Hannigan will assume the role of Chief Commercial Officer; and John Cunningham will take the position of Senior Vice President Asia Pacific. The three executives will be tasked with supporting the next stage of expansion and growth, focusing on strengthening the company´s aircraft portfolio and expanding its market reach beyond China.
Chinese aircraft lessors focus on closing skills gap
Chinese aircraft lessors are investing heavily to build up their asset management skills to match their financial firepower as they try to take on U.S. and European leasing giants, senior executives in the sector said at a Global Airfinance Conference in Dublin last Thursday.
Hong Kong lessor CALC delivered 18 A320ceos in 2016
Hong Kong-based lessor China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) delivered 18 aircraft in 2016. Additionally, the lessor completed rental realization transactions for 14 aircraft over the year. The aircraft lessor expects to deliver at least 17 new aircraft this year.
