Air China Opens Fifth Freedom Beijing-Houston-Panama Route
Air China after receiving approval from the U.S. Transportation Department (DOT) exercised fifth freedom rights with the inaugural flight April 5 on its Beijing-Panama City route, via Houston Intercontinental.

CAAC approval for maintenance work on Boeing 737-700s and 737-800s in Hamburg
Lufthansa Technik AG's Hamburg site has received approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) as a maintenance organization for Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft. This decision means additional order potential for the VIP & Special Mission Aircraft Services division, since the very popular Boeing Business Jets are based on these aircraft types.
CAAC Considers Fleet Limits For Underperforming Airlines
According to Aviation Daily 4 April The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) is threatening to restrict fleet additions for underperforming airlines under a new policy designed to raise service standards.
Cambodia set to grant AOCs to MJ Airlines and Domrey Angkor Airlines
Cambodia plans to grant AOCs to two new airlines, MJ Airlines and Domrey Angkor Airlines, according to the CAA, with the licenses issued by late 2018 and early 2019, respectively. Both Companies are backed by investors from Cambodia and China, looking to build on traffic demand between the two countries.
