AeroGuard Flight Training Center Plans to Train Hundreds of Cadet Pilots at its Phoenix Campus After Long-Term Agreement with Cathay Pacific
Cathay Pacific aims to train several hundred new pilots annually in Phoenix, Arizona, in the United States, and AeroGuard Flight Training Center has announced the signing of a long-term partnership with the airline. With two training programs—one for new hires with no prior flight experience and another for pilots wanting to upgrade their licenses to the Hong Kong standard—AeroGuard will assist Cathay Pacific. By 2025, Cathay Pacific hopes to have trained more than 1,000 cadet pilots through these programs, boosting capacity yearly to keep up with the rising demand for travel. Cathay Pacific’s General Manager Flying Tim Burns, said “We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with AeroGuard to provide our cadet pilots with the opportunity to learn and gain valuable flight experience at such a premier flight training school. Our people are very important to us and our success as an airline, and this partnership with AeroGuard will help us maintain a strong pipeline of talent that will enable us to continue to provide the exemplary standards of service and operational excellence that underpin the Cathay Pacific brand.”
Cathay Pacific and HAECO sign a 10-year MRO agreement
On November 17, Cathay Pacific announced that it has signed a Framework Agreement with HAECO. The agreement establishes a framework for the services to be provided for a period of ten years, which ends on December 31, 2032. The Providers (being maintenance and related services in respect of aircraft, aircraft engines and aircraft parts and components and including ITM Services).
China Airlines launches vegan onboard dining
As of December 1st, China Airlines' in-flight dining menus will feature plant-based food thanks to a partnership with the Michelin-starred restaurant Yang Ming Spring. The CAL Group's China Pacific Catering Services and Kaohsiung Airport Catering Services helped create the special in-flight cuisine.
Etihad Cargo expands operations in China and India with introduction of Shanghai – Chennai direct route
Etihad Cargo has reinforced its commitment to the Chinese and Indian markets, reinstating a twice-weekly freighter service from Shanghai to Abu Dhabi via Chennai effective from 8th December. The additional freighter service will provide additional capacity into two key global markets. Etihad Aviation Group Senior Vice President Global Sales & Cargo Martin Drew said “The Indian market is currently booming. The country’s industrial production is rising, and manufacturing output is rebounding, driven by increases in the production of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and metals, among others. As part of Etihad Cargo’s commitment to supporting this key market, the carrier has opened up freighter capacity from Chennai to support increased demand from customers in the region.”
K-Mile Asia’s New Charter Programme to Shenzhen, China
K-Mile Asia announced it’s enhancing its market position as a formidable regional player in the scheduled and cargo industry with the launch of a new charter programme for SF, the largest integrated logistics service provide in China. The carrier will operate two flights per week from mid-November serving Shenzhen Bao'an (SZX) from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) on behalf of new customer SF using dedicated B737-400 Freighter aircraft.
