Alstom’s Chinese JV Wins Hong Kong Airport Contract CRRC Puzhen Alstom Transportation System (PATS) announced it has successfully secured a contract to maintenance and operate an integrated Automated People Mover (APM) system in Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). The 3 year contract was awarded by HKIA-operator Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK). CALC awards Boeing 737-800P2F to AEI Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) announced that China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) has signed a contract for its first  Boeing 737-800P2F conversion. The aircraft (MSN 30516) will commence modification at the end of July and will be redelivered to CALC in October 2022. Touch labor and maintenance requirements will be completed by STAECO in Shandong,China. CAAM acquires A320 Airframes from LATAM  China Aircraft Leasing (CAAM) announced that its associate company, China Aviation Aftermarket Holdings Limited has acquired six Airbus A320 aircraft from LATAM Airlines Group. The airframes, which are scheduled to be delivered in stages between June 2022 and the first quarter of 2023, will be ferried to the Group’s aircraft recycling facilities in Tupelo, MS in the United States for disassembly. China signals plan to ease international travel restrictions  In a very positive development China announced it will enhance communication with countries to increase international flights during the second half of this year, The CAAC stated last month that it has been negotiating with some countries to gradually and steadily increase regular international passenger flights to meet the needs of the global economy. As a first step China reduced quarantine time for international arrivals to 7 days from the previous 14 days to stimulate the travel market. Etihad Cargo reinforces commitment to China Market  Etihad Cargo has reinforced its commitment to the Chinese market with the introduction of 15  flights per week. Senior Vice President Global Sales & Cargo at Etihad Aviation Group, Martin Drew said “As the Chinese market starts to recover from COVID challenges and zero-COVID restrictions are lifted, Etihad is pleased to resume its passenger operations to Beijing and reaffirm our commitment to Etihad Cargo customers with the introduction of capacity on key trade lanes.
