Bombardier to Showcase Cabin Comfort Leadership with China Debut of Global 7000 Mock-up at ABACE Bombardier Business Aircraft will showcase four of its leading business jets at the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE) in Shanghai from April 17 to April 19, 2018. Making their debut at the show are the Global 7000 mock-up and the luxurious Premier cabin on board the Global 6000 business jet. As part of an extensive world tour, the Global 7000 mock-up is making its first appearance in China after successful stops in Dubai and Singapore earlier this year. CALC to lease one A320ceo to Yunnan Hongtu Airlines CALC announced 9 April that it has entered into an Aircraft Lease Agreement with Yunnan Hongtu Airlines and agreed to lease one new Airbus A320ceo aircraft to the new client. The aircraft is expected to be delivered to the Chinese airline in the first half of 2018 with a lease term of 12 years. China Driving Bell Civil Sales China was the driving force behind Bell's ability to increase its civil helicopter order book by 75 percent last year. For the year, Bell posted 251 net commercial orders compared with 148 in 2016. That tally included orders for 100 model 407GXPs (since upgraded to 407GXis) from Shaanxi Helicopter Co. Ltd and commitments for 110 new 505 Jet Ranger Xs from Reignwood International Investment Group. “So you can see on the order side we had big uptick and a lot of that had to do with China as we announced  throughout the year,” said Bell CEO Mitch Snyder. “We're going to keep investing in the Chinese market, we're really going to work and partner with them on investing in infrastructure, making sure that's there when you have that [number] of incoming aircraft. We want to make sure that that's taken care of as well as future sales,” he said. Citation Latitude Reaches Asia-Pacific Market Textron Aviation’s midsize Cessna Citation Latitude has moved into the Asia-Pacific region with recent certifications from civil aviation authorities in China, Australia, and the Philippines. The approvals clear the way for deliveries into the markets, and the first Philippines-bound Latitude has already been handed over to a customer there. Textron Aviation, meanwhile, was in the throes of preparing for delivery of two Latitudes into China in the weeks leading up to ABACE. The latest approvals continue a rapid international expansion for the Latitude, which has been certified in at least 44 countries. Gama Eyes Greater China Progress From Hong Kong Base Gama Aviation has reported another strong year of growth as the business aviation specialist’s operations in the U.S., Asia, and the Middle East all ticked up, with the U.S. performing the strongest. In Asia, Gama Aviation acquired Hutchison Whampoa’s 50 percent stake of its Hong Kong-based joint venture, with Hutchison instead becoming a strategic investor in the Gama Aviation group by taking a 20 percent stake. The group itself now also holds a 20 percent stake in Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok International Airport-based MRO provider CASL. “We’re very well placed in the Asia market,” co-founder and CEO Marwan Khalek told AIN. “We’ve decided to use Hong Kong as our main base while in a holding pattern waiting to see what happens in Mainland China.” Million Air Looks Ahead to New Beijing Airport U.S.-based FBO chain Million Air entered the third year of its joint-venture with CJet this year, managing the lone FBO at Beijing Capital International Airport, the world’s second busiest in terms of number of passengers. The private aviation business there has been good, with traffic increasing over the past year, according to John Bridi, the company’s vice president for international operations. Rolls-Royce Seeking to Become Engine Provider for C929 Rolls-Royce is seeking to become the provider of engines for the Russian-Chinese wide-body long-range passenger aircraft, named CR929, and the company will join the relevant bid, Paul Stein, chief technology officer of Rolls-Royce, said.
