Air China Projected to Overtake Delta as Most Valuable Airline Bloomberg Intelligence analysts are projecting that Chinese flag carrier Air China will overtake Delta as the world’s most valuable airline by market capitalization within the next three years. BRI scheme a boon for airlines, China Eastern executive says According to a report in the National Thailand Portal China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has benefited the aviation industry as it is helping to boost the number of international travellers, said an executive of China Eastern Airlines. “We have found that more Chinese people are interested in travelling to countries along the Belt and Road, so it brings a dose of good news to every industry, including us [aviation industry],” Dong Bo, China Eastern’s chief marketing officer. Chinese carrier Juneyao Airlines unveils livery design for Boeing 787 fleet Chinese carrier Juneyao Airlines Co. Ltd. (Juneyao Airlines) is scheduled to receive its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner this September, making it the first Chinese private airline to receive a widebody, long-haul jet airliner. Juneyao Airlines recently unveiled the livery plan for its 787 fleet. Juneyao Airlines' first Boeing 787 aircraft will be delivered with a colorful Chinese peony-themed livery. Peony, the national flower of China, is synonymous with grace and elegance and reflects the Chinese airline's brand and vision for itself in terms of upcoming plans for development. The new design is meant to depict the airline's hope and expectations for a peaceful, powerful and prosperous China. The aircraft, together with Juneyao Airlines' painted fleet of Airbus A320, which received the livery in preparation for the carrier's recent celebration of its 10th anniversary, also served as an announcement of the airline entering a new era, whereby it is operating with both Boeing and Airbus aircraft. China Southern, Capital Airlines apply for US and Korea rights China Southern Airlines has filed an application to start Shenyang-Los Angeles flights, while Capital Airlines is seeking rights for two routes to Jeju according to FlightGlobal 16 July. China Southern in Talks With British Airways on Joint Venture China Southern Airlines is exploring a joint venture with British Airways on flights between the Asian country and the U.K., according to the company’s global sales director. Asia’s biggest carrier by fleet size is discussing with IAG’s BA on how to extend cooperation beyond the existing basic code-share agreement announced in December, said Senior Vice-President Luo Laijin. The two are discussing special pro-rate agreements, flight connections from the U.K.’s capital to cities including Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well as to some African cities.
