Ameco Delivers the 12th Boeing 757 Passenger-to-Freighter Aircraft Ameco announced 12 February the delivery the 12th Boeing 757-200 passenger-to-freighter aircraft in the last few days. This is also the 8th passenger-to-freighter aircraft completed by Ameco Chengdu Branch for SF Airlines. Ameco also plans to develop Airbus A321 passenger-to-freighter services in the near future. Bell 407GXi Receives China Nod Bell has received type certificate approval for its 407GXi light single helicopter from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). In 2017, Shaanxi Helicopter ordered 100 Bell 407s as part of its plan to build an air medical rescue and law enforcement network in China. Deliveries of the new helicopter in China are expected to begin this month. BOC Aviation Announces Senior Appointments BOC Aviation announced two new senior appointments. Graham Lees was appointed as Director and Head of Revenue, BOC Aviation, (USA) Corporation based in the Company’s New York office. In his new role, Mr. Lees is a Director on the board of BOC Aviation, (USA) Corporation and heads the Airline Leasing & Sales activities for North and Central America and is responsible for managing senior relationships with the airframe and engine manufacturers on all revenue related areas. Mr Andrew Taylor was appointed Head of Aircraft Sales, based in the Singapore headquarters. CAAC Issued "Guidance on UAV Airworthiness Certification" On January 23^rd, 2019, the Airworthiness Department of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) issued the Guidance on UAV Airworthiness Certification based on Operational Risks aiming at establishing a risk-based UAV airworthiness management system by the end of 2019. A total of five Chinese UAV companies were authorized as pilots to initiate and develop different UAV programs in exploring airworthiness standards and certification methods for UAVs for transporting cargos, inspecting powerlines and carrying passengers. China's flights record best on-time performance since 2010 In 2018, the on-time rate for flights by Chinese airlines reached 80.13 percent, the highest level since 2010, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The normal release rate at the airport was 82.94%, and the on-time departure rate of flights was 82.51%, a year-on-year increase of 6.78% and 8.89% respectively. China sees 225 million passenger trips with e-boarding passes in 2018 China has seen a total of 225 million passenger use electronic e-boarding passes to take flights in 2018, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). CDB Aviation Leases Four E190 Aircraft to Mongolian Carrier Hunnu Air CDB Aviation announced 11 February the signing of a lease agreement with a Mongolian domestic airline, Hunnu Air, for a fleet of four Embraer E-190 aircraft. The E190s are expected to be delivered in May 2019, and in 2020 and 2021. Etihad Airways to deploy latest generation 787 Dreamliners on all its flights to China Etihad Airways will introduce the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on its daily service from Abu Dhabi to Chengdu, effective 1 July 2019, replacing the Airbus A330-200 currently operating the route. Also from 1 July, the airlines’ daily service from Abu Dhabi to Shanghai will be upgraded from the 787-9 to the larger 787-10 Dreamliner. Robin Kamark, Etihad Aviation Group Chief Commercial Officer, said “China is an incredibly important market for Etihad and we have significantly grown our presence there since launching services to Beijing in 2008. Abu Dhabi’s non-oil trade shows that China is among the top-five countries with key trade relations with the emirate. We look forward to building on these strong foundations and for our guests to experience our 787 Dreamliner product on their flights to and from China.” Hong Kong Airlines Aviation Training Centre obtains Occupation Permit The Hong Kong Airlines Aviation Training Centre has successfully fulfilled the construction requirements set out in the Buildings Ordinance and granted an Occupation Permit (OP) issued by the Building Authority of Hong Kong on 12 February 2019. The OP serves as an important development for Hong Kong Airlines’ new aviation training facility, which is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2019.
