BOC Aviation Records Major Milestones: Signed More Than 1,000 Lease Commitments, Committed To Purchase More Than 900 Aircraft BOC Aviation announced that it has achieved two major milestones: signing 1,000 lease commitments and committing to purchase more than 900 aircraft since inception. Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer said “We are extremely proud to celebrate these two achievements in our 27th year of operation, which are testaments to our company’s long and successful history. Attaining these milestones reflects our disciplined investment and counter-cyclical strategy, which have contributed to long-term sustainable returns as we purchase aircraft at competitive prices and place them on long-term leases. To date, we have committed to purchase more than 900 aircraft and signed over 1,000 lease commitments with more than 160 airlines in 57 countries and regions.” China’s Civil Aviation Sector Rises to Challenge of Pandemic China's civil aviation sector has taken a proactive approach to transporting medical personnel and emergency supplies to aid the global fight against the novel coronavirus, a senior aviation official said. Sun Shaohua, deputy head of the Civil Aviation Administration of China's operation monitoring center, said the administration has activated guarantee mechanisms to arrange extra flights and organize chartered flights to send medical experts and materials to countries hit hard by the novel coronavirus pneumonia pandemic. The civil aviation authorities had carried out 575 such flights. Those flights ferried 134 medical experts and workers and 9,544 metric tons of epidemic prevention and control supplies to more than 60 countries, including the United States, Iran, Pakistan, Italy, Japan and South Korea, he said. China Tackles Air Cargo Woes amid Pandemic China has been enacting a slew of measures to establish a green channel to facilitate air cargo transportation as the novel coronavirus pandemic cripples the global supply chain. Domestic-and foreign-owned international cargo flights in China are expected to hit 4,445 this week, over three times higher than the 1,014 flights made before the outbreak, said Sun Shaohua, deputy head of the Civil Aviation Administration of China's operations and monitoring center. "China will take further steps to boost the country's international airfreight capacity in an effort to stabilize global supply chains," The administration has continued to cut down operational costs of international air cargo, including exemptions from the civil aviation development fund as well as reductions on airport and air control fees. Finnair to deepen its cooperation with Juneyao Air Finnair and Juneyao Air have signed a Letter of Intent to deepen their cooperation between China and Europe subject to required regulatory approvals.The aim is to establish a joint venture on the Helsinki – Shanghai route enabling Finnair and Juneyao Air to offer their corporate and leisure customers a seamless travel experience through a wider choice of destination, schedule and fare options via their main hubs, Helsinki Airport (HEL) and Pudong International Airport (PVG). Chief Commercial Officer Finnair Ole Orver said “Despite these immensely challenging times for our industry, we at Finnair remain steadfast in our belief and commitment to China as a key market and to Juneyao Air as a key partner. Over the last year we have built up a close and mutually beneficial partnership with Juneyao Air. Taking the important step to evolve this into a deeper cooperation focused on our Shanghai and Helsinki hubs will allow us to not only serve our current customers even better, but also to lay a platform for further growth in the future, once the aviation market starts to normalise”. HAECO Composite Services Adds GE90 Fan Case Repair Capability HAECO Composite Structures (Jinjiang) has added capability for preventive maintenance inspections and associated repairs on fan stator modules for GE90 engines on Boeing 777 aircraft. Established in 2009 and located in Jinjiang, Fujian province, Mainland China, HAECO Composite Services is a dedicated composite maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility for aircraft nacelles, radomes, and aerostructures.
