CALC Appoints Dr. Sheldon Tse as Independent Non-Executive Director China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings announced the appointment of Dr. TSE Hiu Tung, Sheldon as an independent non-executive director of the Company with effect from 18th September. Cargolux adds Shenzhen to its global network Cargolux announced the launch of a new frequency to Shenzhen, China. The weekly frequency is routed Luxembourg-Bangkok-Shenzhen before returning westbound to Luxembourg via Bangkok with an additional stopover in Budapest. Shenzhen (SZX) is Cargolux’s 6th destination in mainland China, bolstering the company’s position as a leading provider of air cargo services in the region. China eases restrictions on domestic airlines to boost aviation market China's civil aviation regulator announced adjustments to its management policies for domestic airline services in a bid to boost the virus-hit industry. China will lift restrictions on the maximum limit of weekly flights subject to approval, allowing airlines greater flexibility in arranging passenger flights involving airports of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, among other busy airports. The regulator specified detailed guidelines for applying flights to coordinate market competition and take into consideration the conditions of airport operation. China expected to remain Airbus's largest single-country market: CEO China is expected to remain the biggest single-country market of Airbus in 2020 as it plans to deliver about 100 aircraft to China this year. Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Airbus delivered only 14 aircraft to China in the first half of this year, according to George Xu, CEO of Airbus China. The company's original plan included delivery of some 160 aircraft to the country in 2020. Renovations underway at Hongqiao airport A new round of renovations was launched at the Hongqiao airport to build an attached structure on the T1 terminal and a new office complex on the airport’s eastern side. The project aims to develop a commercial hub involving shopping, dining and entertainment along with a business district focused on civil aviation finance and services, the airport authority said. The airport handled over 45 million travellers and some 270,000 movements in 2019. South China airport sees sustainable recovery in passenger flow Xinhua Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (Baiyunport) in south China's Guangdong Province has reported a sustainable recovery in domestic air passenger throughput, according to the airport. Baiyunport led the country in domestic passenger flow and flight movements in July and August amid the country's remarkable air travel recovery, said a source of the airport. In August, the airport served 4.61 million passengers, up 12.6% from July. The volume indicated that its domestic passenger throughput has rebounded to the level before the epidemic outbreak.
