Airbus and partners to establish aircraft lifecycle centre in China Airbus has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the city of Chengdu and Tarmac Aerosave for the development of the first sustainable aircraft “lifecycle” service centre in China. This agreement will cover a range of activities from aircraft parking and storage, to maintenance, upgrades, conversions, dismantling and recycling services for various aircraft types. A formal agreement to establish and frame this industrial cooperation is planned to be signed between the partners in mid-2022, with an entry into service of the new centre slated for the end of 2023, subject to relevant regulatory approvals. Atlas Air Extends Long-Term Agreement with SF Group Atlas Air announced the extension of a long-term aircraft transportation services agreement to operate a Boeing 747-400 Freighter for SF Group (SF), China’s leading express service provider, between China and the United States. China says to promote technology in airports China's aviation authority (CAAC) announced it will promote the application of 5G services in airports adding it will improve airport safety and efficiency. Deputy Director, Office of Air Traffic Regulation, Civil Aviation Administration of China Chen Xiangyang stated "5G Aero-MACS is a fifth-generation mobile communication technology with low latency, high reliability and large bandwidth. It will form a private network for civil aviation. With such a network, the high-precision digital map of the airport; the occupancy of runways, taxiways, covered bridges, and parking spaces; the real-time positions of aircraft and vehicles; and the taxiing paths released by the control tower can be transmitted through the 5G network. This data can be shared among aircraft cockpits, towers, ground vehicles, as well as airlines and airport operation control departments." HAECO Hong Kong Completes The First Boeing 737-800 Split Scimitar Winglet Modification HAECO Hong Kong announced that it has recently completed the first split scimitar winglet modification in tandem with C Check for a Virgin Australia Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
