ARJ21 Regional Passenger Jetliner Showcases High-Altitude Performance The ARJ21 is undertaking three-day demonstration flights in Southwest China, to showcase its performance in plateau areas and further explore market opportunities. The ARJ21 will fly several routes between eight airports, including Kunming, Lijiang and Dali airports in Yunnan province. During the period, Commercial Aircraft Corp of China, its developer, also held a seminar with its customers to discuss the operations and potential of China's highland aviation regional market. "The ARJ21 is the first regional aircraft designed in accordance with the operating conditions of central and western China, and northern China. It has good high-temperature performance and anti-crosswind ability in high altitude, and it is particularly compatible with the takeoff and landing conditions of airports in Southwest China," COMAC said in a statement. BOC Aviation Reports 1H2019 Results BOC Aviation is pleased to announce its unaudited results for the six months ended 30 June 2019. Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said, “We have just achieved a major milestone in June 2019 as our cumulative net profit after tax (“NPAT”) exceeded US$4 billion since inception. BOC Aviation reported NPAT of US$321 million in the first half of 2019, an increase of 8% compared with the same period last year. Revenue rose 13% to US$930 million from US$825 million, and our fleet net book value grew 6% to US$15.9 billion from 31 December 2018, as we continued to take delivery of modern, fuel efficient aircraft. The 8% rise in the interim dividend declared underpins our continued focus on delivering good long-term returns for our shareholders.” CAAC to Pilot Direct Luggage Transfer Services at 29 Airports China's civil aviation authority announced a pilot plan to carry out direct luggage transfer services at 29 domestic airports across the country, a move to simplify boarding procedures and reduce transfer time for air passengers. According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the coverage rate of direct routes between hub airports and feeder airports is 25.6 percent, and the percentage is only 0.6 percent between feeder airports. China, Singapore ink maintenance licence agreement The civil aviation authorities of Singapore and China have signed an aviation maintenance agreement, which will see reduced administrative hassle in obtaining each other’s maintenance licences, among other benefits. China Southern Introduces 'One Passenger Multiple Seats' Service China Southern Airlines has introduced a new service that allows one passenger to buy multiple seats. Passengers with economy class tickets travelling between Nairobi and China's Guangzhou or Changsha can buy additional one to three seats at airport check-in counters for 650-1,700 yuan (US$93-243), said Huang Guanwen, the general manager of China Southern's Kenya branch, at a news conference. IndiGo enters China, launches daily non-stop flight on Delhi-Chengdu route IndiGo will enter China from next month with the launch of a daily non-stop flight on to Chengdu from Delhi commencing 15^th September. Chengdu will be IndiGo’s 20th international destination. The city is a popular destination for Indian tourists and is also the world’s largest source of outbound travelers. "China is a market with immense potential and holds prominent trade, cultural and tourism value," William Boulter, chief commercial officer, IndiGo said.
