AG600 large amphibious aircraft wins lessor support
The development of the AG600 large amphibious aircraft has gained support from the lessor community announced the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co Ltd, a subsidiary of AVIC, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Everbright Financial Leasing Co Ltd to jointly boost research and development of the AG600 and its future operation.
Airbus Delivers First A319neo To China Southern Airlines
Airbus has delivered the first Airbus A319neo to China Southern Airlines, which becomes the first commercial operator of the shortened A320neo family aircraft with two on order.
CAAC civil airports surpass 900 million passengers in 2021
China's civil airports handled 907.48 million passengers last year, up 5.9% on prior year, according to the latest civil airport production statistical bulletin released by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). The Yangtze River Delta, which handled 167.65 million passengers last year. In 2021, the top four airports for passenger throughput were Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.
Collins Aerospace Expands MRO Capacity in China
Collins Aerospace announced it is investing more than $11 million to nearly double the size of its MRO operations in Xiamen, China to a new 80,000-square-foot facility. The expanded site will provide MRO services for multiple Collins products, including fuel control systems, engine vane actuators, helicopter rescue hoists, evacuation slides and avionics, among others. The facility will support Chinese platforms like the ARJ21 and C919, as well as the B787, A350, A330neo, general aviation and rotary wing aircraft.
