Austrian Airlines resumes flights to Shanghai Austrian Airlines will fly to Shanghai with effect from 2ndOctober. After several postponements of the resumption due to the dynamic market situation, the return to China is now fixed. A Boeing 767-300ER will fly from Vienna to Shanghai weekly. Austrian Airlines board member Andreas Otto said “We are very pleased to be able to return to China with regular passenger flights. A second weekly flight to Shanghai is on our wish list.” Cathay Pacific Airways Launches 12-week Cargo Service to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Cathay Pacific Airways launched a temporary expansion of its operations in the Americas, with a 12-week cargo service linking Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) with Southeast Asia, to supplement the airline's existing network of 19 cargo stations throughout the Americas. The flight will be operated by a reconfigured Boeing 777-300ER. HAECO Landing Gear Services Completes Inaugural Boeing 787 Dreamliner Landing Gear Overhaul HAECO Landing Gear Services, a member of the HAECO Group, announced that it has completed the world’s first Boeing 787 Dreamliner landing gear overhaul. The gears have been released by HAECO Landing Gear Services under the authority of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB). Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen and CASC agree on component support China Aviation Supplies Co. Ltd. (CASC) and Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen recently signed a long-term Total Component Maintenance contract in Beijing. The contract extends a comprehensive component maintenance and material support concept by more than 40 Airbus A320 aircraft operated by Qingdao Airlines. During the signing ceremony, both parties reviewed previous project collaborations on Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 and A320 fleets, and held in-depth discussions on their future cooperation in aviation material support. Next Generation Airbus A321NEO joins Spring Airlines' fleet Spring Airlines' first A321neo, the next generation narrow-body passenger jet from Airbus, has finished its maiden flight and is ready to serve domestic traveller’s during the approaching holidays. The Spring Airlines A321neo features a 240-seat all-economy class cabin layout and is powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines. The aircraft will operate on one of the nation's most popular business routes during the 8-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. SAS Airlines resumes flights to Shanghai From 29 September SAS has now obtained approval from the Chinese authorities and is reopening the route from Copenhagen to Shanghai with a weekly frequency using Airbus A35-900 aircraft. The reopening of the route is vital for trade. With the reopening of the route, SAS is aiming to meet demand for business travel and air freight services between Scandinavia and China.
