Aviation Capital Group Announces Delivery of One A321neo to STARLUX Airlines
Aviation Capital Group announced the delivery of one new Airbus A321neo aircraft on long-term lease to STARLUX Airlines. Featuring CFM International LEAP-1A30 engines, this is the first of three new A321neo’s confirmed to deliver to the airline from ACG’s orderbook with Airbus.
Carlyle Aviation Partners Affiliate to Buy AMCK Aviation’s Portfolio of Aircraft
Global investment firm Carlyle announced that Maverick Aviation Partnership LP an investment vehicle managed by Carlyle Aviation Partners, has signed an agreement to acquire AMCK Aviation’s portfolio of aircraft. Through the transaction, Maverick will acquire 125 primarily narrowbody aircraft and an order book of 20 A320/321 neo aircraft. The total appraised value of the existing fleet is in excess of $4 billion, not including the order book. William Hoffman, Chairman of Carlyle Aviation Partners, said “We are pleased to acquire AMCK’s attractive portfolio, comprised of primarily narrowbody aircraft whose lessee counterparties have performed well in the COVID operating environment. This transaction will help us enhance our capabilities for airline customers and all of our investors across the Carlyle Aviation platform.”
CDB Aviation Delivers First of Two 737-800 Aircraft to New North American Customer Sun Country
CDB Aviation announced the delivery of the first of two Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Sun Country. CDB Aviation’s Head of Commercial, Americas Luís da Silva said “We’re delighted to have partnered with our colleagues at Sun Country on executing this transaction for two Boeing aircraft from our portfolio, which will facilitate the further build-out of the carrier’s highly-adaptable network structure.”
Etihad, Henan airport group sign MOU for cargo
Etihad Airways and Henan Province Airport Group, the parent company of the Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport (CGO) aim to establish a strategic partnership to strengthen aviation ties between the UAE and China. This follows the signing of a virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the virtual “Zhengzhou Week” event hosted by Expo 2020 Dubai China Pavilion. The MOU contains plans for Etihad’s potential operation of regular cargo services between Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (CGO) to create the “Air Silk Road” between Henan Province and the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The MOU also covers scope of cooperation between the two parties to build the CGO airport into an air freight hub in the region, and to diversify product sales and cargo distribution channels at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport.
Gardner Aerospace establishes new facility in China
Gardner Aerospace said it has opened a new factory in China to meet growing demand in the Asia-Pacific region. The company is a supplier of components to manufacturers including Airbus and Rolls-Royce Holdings. The company said China’s large and growing aviation market is helping it expand production around the world and supporting jobs across the UK supply chain. Production is expected to begin this year and several UK staffers have been based at the Chengdu site since August.
