Airbus wins new orders from China  Airbus announced the signing of  new orders with Chinese carriers   Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, and Shenzhen Airlines for a total of 292 A320 Family aircraft, demonstrating a positive outlook for the Chinese aviation market. Airbus Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International Christian Scherer said “These new orders demonstrate the strong confidence in Airbus from our customers. It is also a solid endorsement from our airline customers in China of the performance, quality, fuel efficiency and sustainability of the world's leading family of single aisle aircraft. We commend the excellent work by George Xu and the entire Airbus China team as well as our customers’ teams for having brought to conclusion these long and extensive discussions that have taken place throughout the difficult COVID pandemic.” Airbus to Set Up China R&D Centre  Airbus announced it will establish a new Airbus R&D Center in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, to boost innovation partnerships in China. The R&D centre will carry out research work on advanced technologies commencing in 2023. Airbus China CEO George Xu said “China not only has a promising aviation market, but also has advanced technological advantages in many fields.” China Airlines deploys FlightPath3D technology  China Airlines has deployed the first, full, 3D second screen FlightPath3D product on its A321neo inflight entertainment (IFE) system powered by Safran, using FlightPath 3D’s “any device, any platform” technology. China Airlines is working towards integrating a single map experience across all its platforms. China Airlines Vice President for Corporate Development Office Jeremy Chang said “We’re excited to have the most advanced 3D map available on our seatback and mobile devices simultaneously on our A321neo. FlightPath 3D’s engaging moving map technology on our second screen, plus the flexibility to add the kids app on our IFE, shows FlightPath3D’s ability to work with us to drive our initiatives of providing the best inflight experience for all passengers.” Icelandair Signs New Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft Leases  Icelandair has announced long-term operating leases of two new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with BOC Aviation.
