Air China Chooses Menzies at LAX Menzies Aviation at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has signed a three-year cargo contract renewal with Air China Cargo. Menzies will now deliver cargo warehousing, freighter handling, and passenger ramp services for the airline. This contract means that Menzies will continue to handle over 60,000 tons of cargo per year at LAX. Airbus establishes R&D partnership with Chinese firm for polymer additive manufacturing solutions Chinese 3D additive manufacturing (AM) player Farsoon Technologies and Airbus (Beijing) Engineering Centre Co., LTD have signed a collaboration contract that establishes a joint research and development program for polymer AM in civil aviation. This marks Airbus’ first collaboration with a Chinese company in the said field. Airbus Said to Consider Making Newest Jet in China to Win Orders Bloomberg reported 28 February Airbus is looking at assembling its newest A330neo in China as part of a bid to win orders for the A330Neo in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets. China-developed MA700 turboprop to roll off production line in September The China-developed MA700 turboprop aircraft has entered the trial-manufacturing and test phase, announced the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). The first MA700 is expected to roll off the production line this September. The MA700 is the third member of China's "Morden Ark(MA)" regional airplane family following the MA60 and MA600. Ethiopian Airlines forecasts further growth in Chinese market Ethiopian Airlines forecasts further growth in its already robust share in the Chinese air market. In an exclusive interview with to Xinhua, Esayas Woldemariam, Managing Director of International Services said the airlines already flies to five destinations in China, but is already aiming for even more Chinese destinations. The carrier plans to start cargo flight services to Zhengzhou city and plans to start passenger flight services to Dalian and Hangzhou cities. IATA appoints new Regional Vice President for North Asia The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has appointed Ma Tao as Regional Vice President for North Asia. Ma’s remit covers 36 IATA members across the North Asia region, including airlines in Greater China, Mongolia and North Korea. Juneyao Airlines plans London debut in July Flightglobal 28 February reported Juneyao Airlines is seeking rights to launch services to London thrice-weekly services between Shanghai Pudong and London in July.
