AirMedia provides update on cooperation with China Eastern Airlines Media Co., Ltd.
AirMedia Group Inc announced EASTO APP came online on selected airplanes operated by China Eastern Airlines. As part of the strategic collaborations between the AirMedia and China Eastern Airlines Media Co., Ltd., EASTO APP was created jointly as an Internet empowered in-flight entertainment connectivity platform enabling China Eastern Airlines to provide its travellers with streaming multimedia, e-commerce, and other customized and interactive experiences. While operating and maintaining the platform, AirMedia is devoted to working with CEA Media to further integrate available resources to enrich travellers' experience.
AviaAM Leasing’s Joint Venture delivers its second brand-new Boeing 737 to the Chinese carrier
AviaAM Leasing announced that its Joint Venture company with the state-owned company Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company (HNCA) – AviaAM Financial Leasing China – has recently delivered its second brand-new Boeing 737-800 aircraft to the Chinese customers. On 17th of December 2018, an aircraft MSN 60467 left the Boeing assembly line in Seattle, the United States, and took off to the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone (Zhengzhou Xinzheng Comprehensive Bonded Zone), where it was officially delivered to its new operator on 21st of December 2018. Aircraft equipped by 186 economy seats and 2* CFM56-7B26E engines is co-leased to Okay Airways and Joy Air under the 12 years agreement.
Beijing's new airport to handle 72 million passengers annually by 2025
Beijing's new international airport is expected to handle 45 million passengers annually by 2021 and 72 million by 2025, according to the country's civil aviation regulator. Beijing Daxing International Airport, set to start operation this year, is designed to become "a large international aviation hub, a new driver of development for the country and a comprehensive transport hub in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region that supports the Xiongan New Area's development," according to a statement from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
Boeing 737-800BCF certified by China’s Civil Aviation Authority
Boeing confirmed that its 737-800 Boeing-converted freighter aircraft has been certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of China, which means that Chinese airlines may now operate the Next Generation 737 converted freighter.
Genghis Khan Airlines canters toward launch
According to Flight Global 4 January Chinese start-up Genghis Khan Airlines is moving towards launch as The Civil Aviation Administration of China is now seeking comments to its application for a business licence, by 17 January.
Icelandair Group hf. completes PDP financing with BOC Aviation
Icelandair Group has entered into a new financing facility with BOC Aviation regarding the financing of pre-delivery payments of the Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft on order from The Boeing Company which will be delivered in 2019 and 2020. The final scheduled delivery date of the aircraft is in March 2020. In addition to the PDP facility the parties have also agreed to a Sale and Leaseback of two Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, one of them to be delivered in 2019 and the second one in 2020. The lease period is 12 years but includes a purchase option 30 months into the lease.
Qatar Airways Announces Its Acquisition Of 5.00% Of China Southern Airlines
Qatar Airways Group announced 2 January that as part of its strategy to invest in the strongest airlines around the world and continue enhancing operations and network connectivity, on 28 December 2018, it has completed an on-market purchase of certain A shares and H shares of China Southern Airlines Company Limited resulting in our aggregate holding of approximately 5.00% of the total issued share capital of China Southern Airlines. Qatar Airways’ Chairman His Excellency Mr Ali Shareef Al Emadi said, "Qatar Airways regards our shareholding in China Southern Airlines as an important part of our strategic investment in the largest airline in one of the world’s fastest growing aviation markets.”
