China Eastern Introduces RFID-tech in Luggage Tracking at Shanghai Airports
China Eastern Airlines has comprehensively introduced radio frequency identification devices (RFID) in luggage tracking at two major civil airports in Shanghai. The airline has put the RFID-tech into operation at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
China Southern seeks cooperation with LCC Spring Airlines
Air Transport World 1st July reported China Southern Airlines is exploring low-cost aviation development with LCC Spring Airlines, to decide which company is suitable for developing a new LCC model in China.
Construction Phase of Beijing Daxing International Airport Is Complete
Construction of the Beijing Daxing International Airport finished last week, five years after the project began in 2014, marking the start of the preparatory stage of the airport's operation. The airport, located 46 km south of downtown Beijing, is designed to alleviate the pressure on Beijing Capital International Airport in the city's northeastern suburbs. It is expected to handle 45 million passengers annually by 2021 and 72 million by 2025.
Embraer’s “TechLion” E195-E2 visits China, kicking off the first stop of its global demonstration tour
Embraer’s “TechLion” E195-E2 has commenced its global démonstration tour in China. The first stop will be Xiamen, China, on July 8th, followed by several stops within China and Asia Pacific during the months of July and August. At each stop, Embraer will show the aircraft’s efficiency and quiet cabin. The E195-E2 is the largest of the three aircraft in the E-Jets E2 family. John Slattery, President & CEO, Embraer Commercial Aviation said “We are delighted to start the global demo tour of the E195-E2, the biggest aircraft ever developed by Embraer, with our Chinese customers. Airlines will love the E2’s exceptional economics and efficiency, greater operational flexibility and unmatched passenger comfort. Etihad Airways Launches Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to Chengdu
The deployment of the 787-9 to Chengdu is part of the airline's ongoing plan to operate all 28 weekly services to China's four main gateways -- Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai and Hong Kong -- with the next-generation Dreamliner aircraft. The airline has already upgraded its daily service from Abu Dhabi to Beijing to the 787-10 Dreamliner, and its daily service from Abu Dhabi to Hong Kong to the 787-9. It has also been announced that effective 1 July 2019, the daily service from Abu Dhabi to Shanghai will be upgraded from the 787-9 to the larger 787-10. Robin Kamark, Etihad Aviation Group Chief Commercial Officer, said "China is an incredibly important market for Etihad and we have significantly grown our presence here since launching services to Beijing in 2008. Abu Dhabi's non-oil trade figures show that China is among the top-five countries that have key trade relations with the Emirate. We look forward to building on these strong foundations, and for our guests to experience our 787 Dreamliner products on their flights to and from China.”
