Delta, Riyadh Air sign strategic agreement
Air Canada lease eight Boeing 737-8 aircraft from BOC Aviation
Air Canada announced an agreement with BOC Aviation for eight Boeing 737-8 aircraft, scheduled for delivery in 2024 and will undergo required modifications before entering service in 2025. Air Canada President & CEO Michael Rousseau, said "We look forward to these aircraft entering into service next year, upon the completion of some required modifications. These eight, brand-new, fuel- and cost-efficient 737-8s will provide more fleet flexibility and additional capacity while supporting one of our sustainability goals of mitigating emissions."
American Airlines commits to conditional purchase of 100 ZeroAvia hydrogen-powered engines
American Airlines announced that it has entered into a conditional purchase agreement with clean aviation innovator ZeroAvia for 100 hydrogen-electric engines intended to power regional jet aircraft with zero inflight emissions save for water vapor. American has increased its investment in ZeroAvia participating in the company’s Series C financing round. American’s CEO Robert Isom said, “Advancing the transition of commercial aviation to a low-carbon future requires investments in promising technologies, including alternate forms of propulsion. This announcement will help accelerate the development of technologies needed to power our industry and uphold our commitment to make American a sustainable airline so we can continue to deliver for customers for decades to come.”
Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) Leases Two 767-300 Freighter Aircraft to My Freighter
Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) announced that its subsidiary Airborne Global Leasing has signed leased agreements for two additional Boeing 767-300 converted freighter aircraft to My Freighter Cargo Airlines of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The addition of these two aircraft will expand the airline's ATSG-leased fleet to five 767-300 freighters.
Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) CEO Mike Berger, said “This commitment for additional capacity increases the global reach of our fleet, serving emerging e-commerce markets. Tashkent, Uzbekistan is a great location to meet the growing need for geographical capacity. This is another example of how ATSG partners with great companies like My Freighter to facilitate trade across the globe.”
Delta, Riyadh Air sign strategic agreement
Delta Air Lines and Riyadh Air have signed a Strategic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding with the goal of introducing a broad range of benefits for customers traveling between North America, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and destinations beyond. Delta CEO Ed Bastian said “This partnership with Riyadh Air will further Delta’s mission of connecting the world and open an array of new choices, benefits and destinations for our customers traveling to and from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Riyadh Air shares Delta’s commitment to providing an elevated customer experience, which is why we’re looking forward to building and expanding this partnership in the months and years ahead.”
