Air connectivity in NE India expands further To further expand air connectivity in the north-eastern region under the Regional Connectivity Scheme-Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (RCS-UDAN) scheme of the central government, a new private airliner on Monday started flight operations between Assam's Guwahati and Arunachal Pradesh's Pasighat. Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials said that a flight of the private airliner Flybig started the direct flight services from Guwahati to Pasighat The Rupsi airport would cater to the needs of air travellers from four western Assam districts and the neighbouring states of Meghalaya, West Bengal and parts of Bhutan. AirAsia Berhad values remaining 16% stake in India venture at $18.8m AirAsia Berhad, which offloaded majority of its stake in AirAsia India (AAIL) to Tata Sons late last year, has earmarked its remaining 16% equity stake in the airline at $18.8 million. In a stock exchange filing, AirAsia Berhad said it has classified its remaining stake in AirAsia India from “investment in associates” to “investment securities”, and “re-measured its stake to a fair value of $18.8 million”. Air Works enters 3D printing services field for aerospace and defence markets Air Works has announced a partnership with Objectify Technologies to offer 3D printing services for aerospace and defence markets. The two companies will together “identify and pursue business opportunities in the aerospace and defence industry, including the requirements of commercial, private jet owners, or operators, globally”. Air Works CEO & MD Anand Bhaskar stated “3D printing technologies are fast coming of age and seeing extensive adoption across the manufacturing industry. Increasingly, even global aviation, aerospace and defence industries are inching towards reaping complete benefits of this emerging technology…. this collaboration will benefit the entire spectrum of our customers across business and executive aviation, commercial airlines and the defence sector.” IBS Software and LATAM Airlines Group reach agreement to transform loyalty program IBS Software announced that it has reached an agreement with LATAM Airlines Group to implement its iFly Loyalty platform, enabling the airline to manage its loyalty programs from a single modern platform. iFly Loyalty will also allow LATAM to move away from a traditional, outdated and costly data center infrastructure. Upon completion of the transformation, IBS Software’s cloud-native iFly Loyalty platform will power the entire technology stack that drives LATAM’s loyalty business. Six new parking stands at Visakhapatnam airport Visakhapatnam: Six new parking stands bays and a taxi track will soon be ready for operation at Visakhapatnam International Airport, paving the way for movement of more flights. Vistara’s First Purchased Airbus A320neo Arrives From Toulouse Vistara welcomed its first purchased Airbus A320neo powered by CFM LEAP engines, strengthening its operational assets and further growing its modern fleet. The aircraft, registered VT-TQE, arrived in Delhi today from Airbus’ production facility in Toulouse, France. It is one of the 13 Airbus A320neo that Vistara had purchased in 2018 as part of a larger order totalling 50 aircraft from the Airbus A320neo Family, including the Airbus A321neo aircraft as well. The new set of A320neo aircraft that Vistara has been adding to its fleet come with higher range capability (77 tonnes of maximum take-off weight), enabling the airline to fly longer regional international routes without payload restrictions.
