AAI starts shuttle service at Srinagar airport The Airports Authority of India (AAI) launched a new shuttle service from the drop gate of the airport here to its terminal building for the convenience of passengers, an official said. Airport director Akash Deep the shuttle service comprising Innova cars will take people to and from the drop gate and the terminal building every 10 minutes. Air India to fly its 423 seater Boeing 747 aircraft to Mumbai, Kolkata Air India is operate the Boeing 747 aircraft to two key domestic destinations, Mumbai and Kolkata, starting 16 October to meet the demand during the Dusshera festive season. The Boeing 747-400 is planned to operate two flights per day daily on the Delhi-Mumbai-Delhi sector from November 1 to November 11 to cater to passenger demand during the Diwali season. India’s SpiceJet takes Bombardier’s first 90-seat Q400 Indian LCC SpiceJet has taken delivery of the first 90-seat version of Bombardier’s Q400 turboprop, announced Bombardier 21 September. SpiceJet is the launch customer for the 90-seat Q400, having firmed an order in September 2017 for 25 of the type, with options for an additional 25. The 90-seat version offers 15% more passenger capacity, and a 15% reduction of seat costs. Jet Airways to phase out ATR aircraft by 2024 Jet Airways is looking to phase out completely its ATR72-500 Fleet of 18 aircraft by 2024 a number are currently sub-leased to TrueJet according to a report in Financial Express (27 September). SMBC Aviation Capital delivers Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to Jet Airways SMBC Aviation Capital announced 25 September the delivery of first of thirteen Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft (MSN 44863) on sale and leaseback to Jet Airways. The full transaction, originally announced in February 2018 involves the sale and leaseback of 13 Boeing 737 MAX 8 powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines.
