Aviation ministry permits experimental drone flights of SpiceJet, Dunzo, 18 other entities The civil aviation ministry authorized experimental drone flight operations, which would be beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS), of SpiceJet, Dunzo Air Consortium, Skylark Drones and Swiggy, and 17 other entities. The 17 other entities include Virginia Tech India, ShopX Omnipresent Consortium, Asteria Aerospace Private Limited, Centillion Networks Private Limited, Marut Dronetech Private Limited and Sagar Defence Engineering Private Limited. Delhi's IGI world's first airport to register 1,000 TaxiBot movements Delhi Airport announced it has logged 1,000 TaxiBot movements since their deployment about two years ago, which has helped airlines save 2.14 lakh litres of jet fuel besides reducing around 532 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide emissions. Delhi Airport CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said ”This is a major milestone not only for DIAL but also for the aviation sector globally, in terms of promoting and adopting alternative and green taxiing solutions.” Flybig forays into northeast India Flybig is launching its services across northeast India, starting from the second week of May. Flights will connect Guwahati, Rupsi, and Kolkata initially and services will also be launched on routes connecting Agartala, Dibrugarh, Tezu, and Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh with Guwahati and Shillong. Flybig CEO Captain Srinivas Rao said “We are extremely happy that flybig is taking its vision one-step ahead by commencing the operations in North-East India and providing regional connectivity to remote areas like Rupsi, Pasighat and Tezu. We are determined to provide essential and safe travel to everyone at this crucial time our country is going through. I am grateful to the government for the Regional Connectivity Scheme which has made travel affordable for the common man. IIn years to come, we will boost connectivity in more regional spaces.” Vistara to launch Delhi-Tokyo route from 16 June under air bubble agreement Vistara announced it will start flights on the Delhi-Tokyo route from 16 June under the air bubble arrangement formed between India and Japan operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Vistara CEO Mr Leslie Thng stated “Far East has been an extremely important geography for our global expansion from the beginning for its tremendous growth potential.
