Air India to lease 30 narrowbody and widebody aircraft Air India announced the carrier is to lease 30 narrowbody and widebody aircraft include twenty-one Airbus A320neos, four Airbus A321neos and five Boeing B777-200LRs from delivery from late 2022 to March 2023. Air India CEO & Managing Director, Air India, said, “After a long time without significant growth, Air India is delighted to resume expanding its fleet and global footprint. These new aircraft, together with existing aircraft being returned to service, address an immediate need for more capacity and connectivity, and mark a strong step forward. Air India has exciting expansion and renewal plans, of which these new aircraft are just the beginning.” IndiGo increases capacity on Delhi-Gwalior Route IndiGo announced effective from 8th September the carrier increasing capacity on its Delhi to Gwalior route from an ATR72-600 to an Airbus A320 aircraft to meet demand. IndiGo Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, Mr. Sanjay Kuma said, “We are pleased to upgrade the deployment of aircraft from ATR to Airbus on Delhi- Gwalior connection, with support from Ministry of Civil Aviation and Government of Madhya Pradesh. We have observed increase in demand on Delhi- Gwalior sector and this upgradation will also result in increased capacity on this route. We are confident that with the enhanced capacity, more customers will be able to take these flights connecting the two cities rich in culture heritage and tourist attractions. We will strive to stay true to our promise of affordable fares, on-time performance, courteous and hassle-free service across wide network, onboard our lean clean flying machines.” ITA Airways announces Rome Fiumicino Airport to Delhi route ITA Airways announced the launch of a new route connecting its Rome Fiumicino hub to Delhi operating three times weekly with Airbus A330-200 aircraft , effective from 3rd December, as part of its expansion into the Asian market and to tap connecting passenger flows from different markets. New Goa International Airport Successfully trials RNP Procedure GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL) announced has successfully completed RNP (Required Navigation Performance) procedure for both approaches of the newly built Runway 10/28 at the upcoming New Goa International Airport. The trials where performed using an IndiGo Airbus A320 aircraft. The new airport is expected to operational by next month. Vistara connects Jaipur and Mumbai Vistara announced the launch of a new route between Jaipur and Mumbai operating double daily with Airbus A320neo effective from 30th September. Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan said, “The glorious city of Jaipur continues to be listed amongst the world’s major tourist destinations, attracting people from across geographies. We are delighted to be able to contribute towards further elevating the tourism potential of the pink city by offering this connectivity to/from Mumbai to our customers.
