Air India Inaugurates Mumbai – Stansted Route
Air India has inaugurated its second long haul route to London Stansted Airport to Mumbai operating three times weekly. Last year Air India also launched flights from Amritsar to London Stansted using the Boeing 787. London Stansted airport’s Chief Commercial Officer Aboudy Nasser said “The launch of Air India’s new service to Mumbai is a fantastic addition to London Stansted’s route network and a real vote of confidence in the airport… we expect this service to be very popular with passengers as we continue to build our successful and growing relationship with Air India at London Stansted.”

A lot of youngsters are here and they do a lot of travel. We have a large population of Indian urban migrant labor, educated people who come to Bangalore to work.”
Future of aerospace and aviation conference hosted by IIMB and BIAL
In a day-long conference hosted by IIM Bangalore and Bangalore International Airport Limited with Toulouse Business School France, senior professionals from the aviation and aerospace industry in India called for better skill development and talent management, as well as policy and structural reforms in the sector. Satyaki Raghunath, Chief Strategy and Development Officer, BIAL, said: “The market size of India is certainly a huge opportunity for MROs (maintenance, repair and overhaul), cargo, logistics, tourism, travel, etc. The impact of what aviation does in terms of driving the economy can never be overstated. Technology has changed the way the aviation industry operates – be it drones, AI, ML, and that creates huge opportunity.
India, a significant contributor to Etihad Airways rise in global aviation
Global connector Etihad Airways operates 161 return flights per week between Abu Dhabi and 10 key Indian gateways of Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram carrying in excess of 3.5 million passengers. Danny Barranger, Etihad Airways’ Senior Vice President Global Sales, said “Etihad Airways remains committed to its largest and busiest market, India. The UAE and India have shared strong commercial, cultural and historic relations and we will continue to honour these excellent trade and tourism ties through closer partnership with our friends in the Indian travel trade.”

UAE and India. United Airlines Enters Codeshare with Indian Carrier, Vistara
United Airlines has entered into a codeshare agreement with Vistara, the full-service Indian airline, to expand travel options for customers. In addition to providing access to 68 Vistara-operated flights to 26 destinations throughout India, the codeshare also allows MileagePlus and Vistara's loyalty program members to earn and redeem miles when flying on either of the airline's route network, commencing 28 February. Vistara's Chief Commercial Officer Vinod Kannan said “The U.S. continues to be one of the biggest source markets for foreign travellers into India and the region, and this partnership allows us to provide a seamless travel offering for customers to and from the U.S."
