BOC Aviation Places Three Boeing 737-800 NG Aircraft With SpiceJet BOC Aviation 24^th May announced the placement of three Boeing B737-800 aircraft with SpiceJet, all of which have been delivered in May. The aircraft are powered by CFM56 engines. “We are pleased to extend our relationship with our long-standing customer, SpiceJet, and to support its expansion in the vibrant Indian market,” said Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BOC Aviation. “India has been one of the most rapidly growing major airline markets in the world and SpiceJet is well-placed to capitalize on this trend.” BOC Aviation Places Six Aircraft With Vistara BOC Aviation announced 27^th May the placement of four Boeing 737-800 aircraft – including two from the managed fleet - and two Airbus A320NEO aircraft with Vistara. All Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft are scheduled for delivery in May 2019. The two Airbus A320NEO aircraft will be delivered in the second half of 2019 and will be powered by CFM Leap 1A engines. Jackson Square Aviation Ireland Announces Delivery of New Airbus A320neo Aircraft to Indigo Jackson Square Aviation Ireland (JSAI) announced 15^th May the delivery of a new A320neo aircraft to InterGlobe Aviation Ltd (IndiGo). This delivery completes the 2018/2019 delivery stream between JSAI and IndiGo of 10 A320neos and reflects a strong, growing relationship between the two companies. "IndiGo is one our largest customers and we are delighted to offer the scale and reliability to finance our growing airline partners.", said Chris Dailey, President & Chief Commercial Officer of JSA. KLM expands across India KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will be expanding its Indian network to include Bangalore with effect from 28^th October, KLM will launch a thrice-weekly direct service from Amsterdam to this Indian megacity. These flights will be operated using Boeing 787-9 aircraft, seating 294 passengers. SpiceJet adds 100th plane to fleet, 4th domestic airline to do Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, GoAir, Air India Express, Vistara, AirAsia and Alliance together have 595 planes in their fleet at the moment. SpiceJet announced the induction of a Boeing 737, taking its fleet size to 100 aircraft. The carrier is the fourth domestic airline to achieve the feat after national carrier Air India, now defunct Jet Airways and rival IndiGo.

Tender for Digi Yatra boarding system at CIAL

Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) in India has issued a tender for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a Digi Yatra eBoarding system. The tender was issued 14 May and closes 30 May. The Digi Yatra initiative will enable air travel passengers in India to board flights using facial recognition instead of physical documents. Virgin Atlantic doubles Indian services with new route to Mumbai Virgin Atlantic is relaunching flights between London Heathrow and Mumbai. The first service is set to commence on 27th October operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft and will complement the airline’s long established route between London and Delhi.
