Air India Engineering Services Limited To Perform Pratt & Whitney GTF™ Maintenance
Air India Engineering Services (AIESL) will provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services in support of Pratt & Whitney’s GTF™ engines and customers in India. AIESL will service PW1100G-JM engines at its facility in Mumbai. Pratt & Whitney powers more than 700 aircraft in service today in India, including more than 150 GTF-powered A320neo family aircraft.
Bidar secures first scheduled service with TruJet
TruJet commenced services to Bidar, in the northeastern part of Karnataka State in India, on 7th February becoming the former Indian Air Force airbase's first scheduled service. The carrier will connect Bidar to Bangalore International daily with its ATR72-500s and ATR72-600s.
IndiGo will start 15 new domestic flights
IndiGo has announced 15 new flights between the metros. With this, the airline said that the operations of the new flights will start from 29 March. The airline said that from 29 March, IndiGo will operate new flights between Bangalore-Indore, Mumbai-Chennai, Delhi-Indore, Chennai-Hyderabad, Hyderabad-Guwahati, Kolkata-Hyderabad, Hyderabad-Chennai, Delhi-Hyderabad and Hyderabad-Chennai. Along with this, it said that the flight between Patna and Mumbai can start from May 15 and the flight between Bengaluru and Jaipur can start from 1st July. Indigo's Chief Commercial Officer William Boulter said, "We are pleased to announce that we have increased connections to five metro cities, with Partner announcing 15 new flights to strengthen its domestic network."
Japan Airlines and Vistara expand codeshare partnership
Japan Airlines (JAL) and Vistara have expanded their codeshare partnership which will give passengers additional options when travelling between Japan and India. Starting March 15, the two carriers will provide codeshare services on JAL’s international routes to India, as well as on connecting flights to major cities in their respective countries. Hideki Oshima, Japan Airlines’ executive officer for international relations and alliances, said “The travel demand from India to Japan has more than doubled in the past decade, making this a key market for Japan Airlines. By strengthening our partnership with Vistara, we will provide an international network that better matches the actual needs of our mutual customers”.
Vistara fits Recaro seats in first Dreamliner
Vistara has installed the PL3530 premium economy and CL3710 economy class seat models from Recaro Aircraft Seating on two classes in its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. “We are committed to providing our customers a distinguished flying experience that offers maximum comfort and great style in all three cabins of service,” said Vinod Kannan, Vistara’s chief commercial officer. “We are delighted to collaborate with Recaro to bring economy and premium economy products of global standards on India’s first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which will further cement our proposition of offering a five-star flying experience to our customers.”
