ACIA Aero Leasing and Solenta Aviation Further Expand Relationship with DHL Express

ACIA Aero Leasing and Solenta Aviation announced that the companies have further expanded their existing relationship with DHL Express. As part of the expanded partnership, the world’s leading logistics company and international express delivery provider, which is part of Deutsche Post DHL Group, agreed with ACIA to acquire and convert a fleet of four ATR 72-500 aircraft into Large Cargo Door freighters and with Solenta, which runs the entire West Africa regional fleet on behalf of DHL Express, to operate these aircraft. ACIA Aero Leasing CEO Mick Mooney said  “ACIA is exceptionally well positioned to deliver on this fleet renewal program for DHL Express alongside our partners at Solenta. The companies will leverage the ACIA Group’s proprietary intellectual property for LCD freighter conversion, owned by IPR Conversions, and extensive experience in delivering converted freighters to airline customers on time.”

Freshfields advises DAE on its acquisition of SKY Fund I Irish, Ltd

Freshfields announced it is advising Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd (DAE) on its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of SKY Fund I Irish, Ltd. and its subsidiaries (Sky Fund I) for an undisclosed amount. Sky Fund I owns and is committed to own 36 aircraft on lease to 14 airline customers in 11 countries. The transaction is expected to complete in the fourth quarter of 2022, subject to the receipt of required regulatory approvals.

Avolon Announces Leadership Appointments

Avolon announced appointments to the roles of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Chief Risk Officer (CRO). Ross O’Connor, Avolon’s Head of Capital Markets, has been appointed as CFO. Felipe Campos, Avolon’s Chief Technical Officer, has been appointed as COO. Jim Morrison, Avolon’s Head of Portfolio Management, has been appointed as CRO. Avolon CEO, Andy Cronin said “Today’s appointments further strengthen our leadership team and position us as an industry leader. The appointment of Ross, Felipe, and Jim, directly from our senior management team, underlines the strength and depth of the people within our business. TrueNoord announced the delivery of a second Embraer E190 to Dominican Republic operator, Sky.
