AerCap Raised $3 Billion of Funding in the Second Quarter 2020
AerCap announced 7th July it raised funding of $3 billion, including $2.5 billion of unsecured bonds. AerCap executed sale transactions for 9 owned aircraft, including 3 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, 5 Boeing 737NGs and 1 Boeing 757 and purchased 2 new Airbus A320neo Family aircraft and signed lease agreements for 10 aircraft, including 1 widebody aircraft and 9 narrowbody aircraft.
Falko Regional Aircraft Limited expands engine leasing capabilities
Falko Regional Aircraft announced 2nd July its increasing its capabilities, focus and product offering around engine leasing. The leasing of CF34 engines will be managed out of Falko’s Dublin office, headed by Pat Carolan who is a CF34 powerplant specialist. Engines currently available for lease include CF34-8C for the CRJ700/900/1000 family, CF34-8E for the Embraer E170/E175 and CF34-10 for the Embraer E190/E195.
FPG Amentum arranges the sale of one B777-200LR on lease to Emirates Airlines
FPG Amentum announced 6th July the sale of one Emirates Airlines Boeing 777-200LR (MSN 35587). The aircraft was sold to another lessor on behalf of FPG Amentum’s investor customer Global Aircraft Fund I.
Funds Managed by Apollo and Merx Aviation Complete Sale-Leaseback Transaction with Delta Air Lines
Apollo Global Management, Inc and Merx Aviation announced 2nd July the completion by certain funds managed by affiliates of Apollo and Merx of a sale and leaseback transaction with Delta Air Lines of ten Airbus A220-100 aircraft. Gary Rothschild, CEO of Merx and Head of Aviation Finance at Apollo, said: “We are pleased to have closed this transaction with Delta, one of the world’s leading airlines, and to add the new and innovative A220 aircraft type to our portfolio. In a time of significant market stress, the Apollo platform and Merx were able to act as a capital solutions provider in a transaction that contributes to Delta’s increased financial liquidity to manage a challenging aviation market. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Delta and other airlines to provide greater financial flexibility.”
MUFG Assists BBAM in Financing Four Aircraft Leased to Delta Air Lines
Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) was mandated as a Lead Arranger and Structuring Agent by BBAM Aircraft Leasing and Management to provide financing for four aircraft on long-term leases to Delta Air Lines. As part of the transaction, MUFG is providing a senior secured term loan facility for a portion of BBAM's managed fleet. Olivier Trauchessec Managing Director and Global Head of Origination and Structured Solutions for Aviation at MUFG said "We are pleased to assist BBAM in financing a portfolio that includes three Airbus A321-200 airliners and one Boeing B737-900ER airliner."
