ATSG West Leasing Delivers First of Two Leased 767 Freighters to Air Incheon
Air Transport Services Group announced 10 April the delivery by its ATSG West Leasing Limited subsidiary of a Boeing 767-300 converted freighter under a six-year dry lease with Air Incheon of South Korea, which has agreed to lease a second 767-300 freighter when the aircraft completes modification in the second half of 2018.
Elix Aviation Capital Confirms a Sale and Leaseback Transaction with Ethiopian Airlines Group
Elix Aviation Capital announced 10 April that it has concluded a sale and lease-back transaction with Ethiopian Airlines Group including two new Bombardier Q400 aircraft. The first of these two aircraft, MSN 4578, was purchased on April 6th, 2018 and immediately delivered to Ethiopian from Bombardier's facility in Toronto, Canada. The second aircraft in the transaction will be sourced from Ethiopian's order-book with Bombardier and is forecasted to be delivered later this year.
NAC has signed an agreement to lease five new E175 and E190 aircraft to JSC Belavia- Belarusian Airlines. The five aircraft are from NAC’s existing Embraer order book
Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) announced 9 April that it has committed to lease five Embraer, three E195’s and two E175’s, to Belavia-Belarusian Airlines, the largest carrier in the Republic of Belarus. The placement of the five new aircraft are from NAC’s existing Embraer order book. The delivery of the first three aircraft, two E195’s and one Е175, is expected as early as April 2019. The remaining two aircraft will be delivered in December 2019 and in April 2020, respectively.
Push for tax treaty with Indonesia that could boost aircraft leasing
The Irish Time reported 7 April An Indonesian cabinet minister has pledged to push his government for a tax treaty with Ireland in a move likely to boost the aircraft leasing industry. Ireland has more than 70 such agreements, but not with Indonesia, where demand for air travel is growing at one of the fastest rates in the world, making it an attractive target for aircraft lessors. Indonesia has a population of 255 million and comprises 17,000 islands spread across 1,750km in southeast Asia these factors and its expanding economy are driving demand for air travel.
Rolls-Royce Announces Jackson Square Aviation As New Lessorcare Customer As Successful Launch Continues
Rolls-Royce has announced Jackson Square Aviation as a new customer for LessorCare, the pioneering new service tailored specifically to the needs of lessors. Jackson Square Aviation will adopt LessorCare across its existing and future fleets of Trent- powered aircraft, drawing together a range of services under one simple, flexible and comprehensive framework. Rolls-Royce launched LessorCare in January with three customers.
SMBC Aviation Capital closes USD600 million syndicated financing
SMBC Aviation Capital announced 6 April that it has closed a $600 million syndicated financing transaction comprising a $200 million term loan and a USD400 million revolving credit facility with a consortium of primarily Asian banks. The transaction generated strong interest from the banking market resulting in a high level of over subscription reflecting SMBC Aviation Capital’s status as one of the industry’s highest rated, Investment Grade aircraft lessors.
SMBC Aviation Capital delivers first of five aircraft to Wizz Air
SMBC Aviation Capital announced 6 April the delivery of one Airbus A321 CEO (MSN 8169) to Hungarian carrier, Wizz Air Hungary Ltd at the Airbus facility in Hamburg. This is the first delivery to Wizz of a five (5) aircraft Sale and Leaseback transaction with the remaining aircraft scheduled to deliver in the last quarter of 2018 and first half of 2019. The aircraft will operate on routes to and from the UK.
TrueNoord closes purchase of three Embraer E190 regional aircraft from GECAS
TrueNoord announced 11 April the purchase of three Embraer E190 aircraft from GECAS. These aircraft are under lease with and operated by HOP!, the regional operator for AirFrance-KLM in France. This additional group of three regionally operated E190 aircraft adds to the significant investment in TrueNoord’s Embraer fleet under lease and increases the organization’s portfolio to fifteen globally operated E190s, with further acquisitions in the pipeline. The purchase was partially financed under a new finance facility arranged by BNP Paribas and DVB Bank SE.
