AerCap Delivers the First New Airbus A320neo Aircraft to Egyptair AerCap announced it has delivered a new Airbus A320neo aircraft on lease to Egyptair the first of a 15 A320neo Family aircraft deal with Egyptair. With this delivery, Egyptair will become the first airline based in mainland Africa to operate the aircraft type. AerCap is the world’s largest Airbus A320neo Family lessor, with 325 owned and on order. “We are very pleased to deliver to Egyptair their first A320neo and to be a part of their fleet modernization plan,” said Aengus Kelly, CEO of AerCap. “We wish the Egyptair team every success as they continue on their journey to achieve their sustainable growth ambitions with the addition of the most modern, fuel-efficient aircraft.” AerCap Signs Lease Agreement with Belavia Airlines for 3 Embraer E195-E2 Aircraft AerCap announced it has signed an agreement with Belavia - Belarusian Airlines for the lease of three new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The aircraft are from AerCap’s order book with Embraer. The first aircraft is scheduled to deliver in December 2020, with the remaining two aircraft delivering in March and April 2021. AerCap was the launch lessor customer of Embraer’s E-Jets E2 and has a total of 50 Embraer E190-E2s and E195-E2s owned and on order. Avolon foresees A321neo delays into 2022 Avolon says the delivery delays blighting the Airbus A321neo are not expected to ease until 2022. This is later than Airbus had been publicly stating late last year. John Higgins, Avolon’s president and chief commercial officer, told Cirium that Airbus’s remediation programme for the A321 – the aircraft type facing the most severe problems – foresees delays remaining throughout 2021 and as far as spring 2022. GTLK Europe leases three Airbus A220-300s to start-up African airline  Nigerian start-up budget carrier Green Africa Airways has committed to leasing three Airbus A220-300s from GTLK Europe, the Ireland-registered arm of Russia’s State Transport Leasing Corporation. The aircraft will allow the airline to launch commercial operations this year ahead of the delivery of the 50 A220-300s it contracted with Airbus in mid-February, and which are scheduled to become available in 2021. “We have secured an inaugural fleet with GTLK Europe that will help bridge the gap between now and when our Airbus order book starts delivering next year,” comments Babawande Afolabi, chief executive of Green Africa. Nordic Aviation Capital delivered one new ATR 72-600, MSN 1583 to TAROM, the Romanian National Air Carrier Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) is pleased to confirm that it has delivered one new ATR 72-600, MSN 1583 to TAROM, the Romanian National Air Carrier. This is the first aircraft to deliver as part of a nine aircraft lease agreement signed in 2019. TAROM Chief Executive Officer George Barbu said: “We are looking forward to starting operations with our brand new ATR 72-600, the only aircraft on the regional market to meet our ambitious targets in terms of efficiency, modern technology and environmental performance. We are going to be able to develop new routes and increase frequency and seat availability, whilst offering the highest levels of comfort and technology.” Stellwagen delivers second Airbus C295 for humanitarian support operations Stellwagen Group announced the delivery of a second Airbus C295 aircraft to DAC Aviation International, a premier humanitarian operator. DAC will add this additional C295 aircraft to its humanitarian operations in Africa. David Butler, Group Chief Executive Officer, Stellwagen Group, said: "We are delighted to deliver the second C295 to DAC Aviation which provides essential life-saving humanitarian support.
