AerCap Signs Lease Agreement for Two 737 MAX Aircraft with Neos AerCap announced 21 June the signing of a lease agreement with the Italian carrier Neos for two Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Based at Milan Malpensa Airport, Neos will become the country's first 737 MAX operator when it takes delivery of the airplane in 2019. AerCap is the third largest 737 MAX lessor in the world, with 100 aircraft on order. AerCap and Primera Air Announce Lease Agreement for Two Airbus A321LR Aircraft AerCap and Primera Air 21 June announced the signing of a lease agreement for two Airbus A321LR aircraft. The agreement was sealed at a signing ceremony during the Paris Air Show. The deal signifies ‘firsts’ for both companies, as this is the first aircraft of its type ordered by AerCap and the first A321LR for Primera Air. The aircraft will deliver in the fourth quarter of 2018. AerCap is the world's largest Airbus A320neo Family lessor, with 220 aircraft owned and on order. Avolon Signs MOU for 75 Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft Valued at US$8.4 Billion Avolon announced 20 June it has signed a memorandum of understanding (”MOU”) for 75 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft at the Paris Air Show. The MOU also includes an option for a further 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. In May 2017, Avolon delivered the world’s first Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to Malindo Air. Avolon’s owned, managed and committed fleet will increase to 925 aircraft. Boeing, AerCap Announce Order for 30 787-9 Dreamliners Boeing and AerCap announced 19 June an order for 30 787-9 Dreamliners at the 2017 Paris Air Show. The agreement, valued at $8.1 billion at list prices, makes AerCap the largest customer for the 787 Dreamliner. AerCap has taken delivery of 55 787s, and now after this order will have a further 67 787s on backlog, including sale leasebacks. Boeing, CDB Aviation Lease Finance Sign Commitment for 737 MAX, 787 Dreamliners Boeing and CDB Aviation Lease Finance (CDB Aviation) announced 19 June the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for 42 737 MAX 8s, 10 737 MAX 10s and eight 787-9 Dreamliners at the 2017 Paris Air Show. With this commitment, valued at $7.4 billion at list prices, CDB Aviation will become one of the launch customers for the 737 MAX 10, the newest member of Boeing's 737 MAX family. Included in this agreement is the conversion of six 737 MAX 8 orders to the new 737 MAX 10s by the lessor from a previous order. Boeing, GECAS Announce Order for 20 737 MAX 10s Boeing and GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) announced 19 June an order for 20 737 MAX 10s at the Paris Air Show, converting 20 of its current MAX orders to the larger MAX 10. GECAS has 170 737 MAX airplanes on order, the largest of any aircraft leasing company. CDB Aviation Lease Finance Orders LEAP-1B-Powered B737 MAX Aircraft CDB Aviation Lease Finance (CDB Aviation) announced 19 June an order for CFM International’s LEAP-1B engines to power 42 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and four Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft. The engine order is valued at more than $1.3 billion U.S. dollars at list price. The leasing company is scheduled to begin taking delivery in 2021. CDB Aviation Lease Finance Places Order for 45 Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft CDB Aviation Lease Finance DAC (a wholly owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Limited announced 20 June the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus for forty-five Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, including thirty A320neos and fifteen A321neos, doubling its overall order position for the aircraft family. In addition, 15 A320neo positions from CDB Aviation’s previous order will be converted to A321neo aircraft. GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) orders 100 A320neo aircraft GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) has signed a firm order for 100 A320neo Family aircraft at the 52nd International Paris Air Show on 19 June. GECAS has selected CFM’s LEAP-1A engine for all 100 A320neo Family aircraft. This new order brings the total number of Airbus aircraft ordered by GECAS to almost 600 aircraft. Of these 220 are A320neo Family aircraft. GECAS Plans to Convert a Further 30 737-800s to Freighters GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) is planning to convert a further 30 Boeing 737-800s into freighters. GECAS launched the 737-800 freighter program with Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) in 2015 and Boeing in 2016. Since then GECAS has provided each program with a prototype aircraft for modification at separate conversion facilities in Miami and Shanghai. All the feedstock aircraft will come from GECAS’ existing portfolio and converted when the aircraft end their current passenger leases from 2018 onward. The ASL Group and West Atlantic Group have already become GECAS customers for the 737-800 freighter with deliveries occurring from the beginning of 2018 through 2019.
