CALC Appoints David Morris as Head of Technical & Asset Management
CALC announced 26 October the appointment of David Morris as Head of Technical & Asset Management with effect from 15 October 2018. He will directly report to the CEO. David joined CALC in July 2017 as Director of Aircraft Leasing, focusing on supporting the CALC Technical and Commercial teams in executing business strategies decided by the Board.
GECAS Orderbook Provides Vistara Seven A320neo
GECAS announced 23 October the signing of a lease contract for seven A320neos to enter service with Vistara, the India based full-service carrier and joint venture of Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, following deliveries from Airbus in the latter part of 2019 and continuing into 2020. “GECAS is delighted to partner with Vistara to expand its fleet of A320neos,” noted GECAS’ Aashish Sonawala, SVP Marketing. “These aircraft offer very attractive operating economics to the airline that is striving to offer a world-class experience to its passengers. We look forward to a long and cherished association with Vistara”
Genesis expands its aircraft leasing team with key industry appointments
Genesis announced 25 October five key appointments to its aircraft leasing business in another milestone for the Dublin-based aircraft lessor as it builds out its new team. The Commercial team has expanded with the appointment of Pat Madigan as Senior Vice President Commercial and Peter O’Byrne as Vice President Commercial. Former DAE Capital Vice President Technical, Aidan Cleary has joined Genesis as Head of Technical Asset Management. Dave Curran joined the team as Vice President Powerplant having worked as Director Engine Management with Macquarie AirFinance. Susan Cotter also joins the team as Vice President Risk, having managed this key business area previously for Apollo Aviation.
Jackson Square Aviation Announces Leadership Succession Plan
Jackson Square Aviation President and Chief Executive Officer Toby Bright announced 25 October that he will step down as leader of the aircraft-leasing company at the end of the year. Bright will transition leadership of the company to Kevin McDonald as Chief Executive Officer and Chris Dailey as President and Chief Commercial Officer effective January 1, 2019.
Manta Air to take delivery of two ATR 72-600s through Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC)
Manta Air, the new domestic airline in the Republic of Maldives, has secured its first two ATR 72-600’s through Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC). The first will be introduced in November 2018, with the second planned to join Manta Air’s fleet before the end of the year. Martin Møller, Chairman of NAC, declared: “We are pleased to see our first ATR 72-600 aircraft being introduced in the Maldives and contributing to the further development of the air connectivity in this region. The ATR 72-600s perfectly match the requirements for short-haul travel in terms of low operating costs, comfort and ability to take-off and land at small airfields.”
SMBC Aviation Capital delivers Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Solaseed
SMBC Aviation Capital announced 25 October the delivery of one Boeing 737-800 aircraft (MSN 64876) to Japanese carrier, Solaseed Air.
