AerCap Leased, Purchased and Sold 436 Aircraft in 2018 Aengus Kelly, CEO of AerCap commented, “Q4 was a record quarter for AerCap. We executed 145 aircraft transactions including 72 leases, 36 sales of older aircraft and 37 purchases of the most in demand new technology aircraft. I would particularly like to note that we have now leased 48 of the 50 Embraer E-2 aircraft that we have on order. Further to this we continued to add to AerCap’s lender group through the execution of $500 million of new debt facilities and ended the year with approximately $10bn in available liquidity.” “These activities illustrate the unmatched capability and scale of AerCap’s platform. It also highlights the continued demand for our aircraft both to meet our airline customers’ needs and as an asset class for investors.” GOAL introduces additional three A321neo aircraft to its fleet for KGAL investors through Irish leasing companies GOAL German Operating Aircraft Leasing GmbH & Co. KG (GOAL) has arranged, through Irish leasing companies, purchase and lease transactions for three Airbus A321neo aircraft with InterGlobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo). The first aircraft delivery took place on 28th December 2018 and the other two aircraft are scheduled for beginning of 2019. Ireland’s success as a dominant leader in aviation leasing and finance to continue The aviation leasing community has grown significantly in size and stature over the last number of years according to Tom Woods, Head of Aviation Finance and Leasing in KPMG Ireland. “Over the last number of years the industry has been growing faster than its average growth rate” he said. “Typically, you would see passenger travel growing at around 5.5%. Over the last five years, we have seen passenger growth rates of between 6% and 7.6%. These sort of growth rates suggest that passenger travel will double well within the typical time horizon of 15 – 20 years.” “You only need to look at the flight trip statistics. Ireland has a very high rate of flights per capita at 3.7 flights per capita. It is no surprise that aviation is so active here. The US average is 1.9 flights but India and China are only 0.1 and 0.4 flights respectively. You can only see the opportunity for growth.” Jackson Square Aviation Ireland To Lease Three New Boeing 737 MAX 8 Aircraft To SpiceJet Jackson Square Aviation Ireland (JSAI) announced 26 December its first transaction with SpiceJet for the lease of three new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with deliveries commencing in 2020. "JSAI is delighted to welcome SpiceJet as our newest customer for the latest technology Boeing aircraft" said Chris Dailey, Chief Marketing Officer. He added, "We look forward to building a long-term partnership with the airline as it continues its growth in the years ahead." SMBC Aviation Capital delivers Airbus A320 Neo to Tianjin Airlines SMBC Aviation Capital announced 27 December the delivery of one Airbus A320 Neo aircraft (MSN 7849) equipped with PW1127G-JM engines to Tianjin Airlines. This is the second Airbus A320 Neo aircraft delivered to Tianjin Airlines from our direct Airbus order. SMBC Aviation Capital delivers first Boeing 737-8 MAX from its order book SMBC Aviation Capital announced 24 December the delivery of one Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft (MSN 61852) equipped with CFM LEAP-1B28 engines to Lucky Air. This is the first delivery of a four (4) aircraft deal with Lucky Air. The remaining three (3) aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in Q1 and Q2 of 2019.
