Air Transat signs on with KF Aerospace KF Aerospace announced they have signed a contract with Air Transat. KF will be providing heavy maintenance and modifications on the airline’s fleet of aircraft, including the A321, B737NG, and A330 widebody. “We’re excited to welcome Air Transat on board our legacy of cross-Canada maintenance and repair services,” says KF President, Tracy Medve. “Supported by our robust operational growth at YHM, we’re committed to providing each of our customers with the highest calibre of service in the industry.” Chorus Aviation announces closing of $75 million bought deal offering of 5.75% Senior Unsecured Debentures Chorus Aviation Inc announced that it has closed its previously announced bought deal offering of $75 million aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured debentures at a price of $1,000 per Debenture. The net proceeds of the Offering will be used to fund the growth of Chorus Aviation Capital (Chorus’ aircraft leasing business), including the acquisition of aircraft intended for or currently on lease to third parties, as well as for working capital requirements and general corporate purposes. Delta, Aeromexico working together to create a seamless travel experience Delta and Joint Cooperation Agreement partner Aeromexico are focused on providing their customers with a consistent experience when traveling between the two airlines. Jet Parts Engineering received FAA approval on 18 new PMA parts PMA parts supplier Jet Parts Engineering (JPE) has received FAA approval on 18 new PMA parts. The most recent additions to JPE’s extensive offerings include interior seat track covers that apply across a broad range of Boeing aircraft, thrust reverser seals for the ERJ platform, anti-collision position lenses and hardware, along with various other parts. Spirit AeroSystems Delivers First Integrated 767 Forward Fuselage Spirit AeroSystems has completed its first integrated 767 forward fuselage section for Boeing, an expanded statement of work on the Boeing platform, which serves as both a freighter and the basis for the KC-46 tanker for the U.S. Air Force. Spirit previously designed and built four separate forward fuselage end items for the 767 -- the cab, lower lobe and two side panels. These were shipped by rail to Boeing for integration. With this new statement of work, Spirit will integrate the four sections into a single unit before shipping to Boeing. Tokyo Century Corporation Acquires Remaining Interest in Aviation Capital Group Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG) announced that Tokyo Century Corporation (Tokyo Century) has acquired the remaining interest in ACG. In 2017, Tokyo Century acquired a 20% membership interest in ACG, and later expanded ownership to 24.5%. The completion of this transaction, first announced on September 9, 2019, results in Tokyo Century now owning 100% of ACG. “On behalf of everyone at ACG, we are all elated, energized and empowered that we are entrusted by Tokyo Century as their aviation platform,” said Khanh T. Tran, ACG’s CEO.  United Airlines Announces Leadership Transition United Airlines announced that Oscar Munoz, Chief Executive Officer, will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Airlines Holdings, Inc. in May 2020. As CEO, Munoz has transformed United's culture and set new standards of operational and financial performance. J. Scott Kirby, President, will succeed Munoz as Chief Executive Officer. United Airlines orders 50 Airbus A321XLRs for transatlantic route expansion United Airlines has placed a firm order for 50 Airbus A321XLR aircraft as it begins to phase out older models and launches an expansion of transatlantic routes from its key U.S. hubs in Newark/New York and Washington, D.C. United plans to take delivery of the first A321XLR in 2024 and expects to begin international service with the aircraft in 2025. “The new Airbus A321XLR aircraft is an ideal one-for-one replacement for the older, less-efficient aircraft currently operating between some of the most vital cities in our intercontinental network,” said Andrew Nocella, United’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “In addition to strengthening our ability to fly more efficiently, the A321XLR opens potential new destinations to further develop our route network and provide customers with more options to travel the globe.” Acumen Aviation © 9 December 2019 All Rights Reserved.
