AEI to provide Allied Air with up to 4 B737-800SF Freighters
Allied Air has signed up for four B737-800 conversions to be carried out by Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI). The agreement calls for two firm orders with an additional two options. The first aircraft (MSN 36746) will commence modification in mid-March 2020 and all touch labour will be performed by AEI Partner Commercial Jet in Miami, Florida. The B737-800 aircraft represents the first African airline owned B737-800SF freighter, and will also be the youngest 737-800 converted to date.
Allegiant Announces Aircraft Base in Concord, North Carolina
Allegiant announced plans to establish a base of operations at Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA). The Las Vegas-based company will invest $50 million to establish the new base in Concord, creating at least 66 high-wage jobs and housing two Airbus aircraft. The company, which focuses on linking travelers in small-to-medium cities to world-class leisure destinations, plans to begin its base operations in Concord on October 7, 2020. Concord-Padgett Regional Airport will become the airline's 21st aircraft base.
Aviation Capital Group Announces the Election of New Independent Director
Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG) announced that Tony Diaz has joined its Board of Representatives (the ACG Board) as an independent director. Mr. Diaz was elected to the ACG Board effective February 21, 2020 and joins the four existing members. “I am delighted to welcome Tony Diaz to the ACG Board. Tony brings a wealth of experience in aircraft leasing. His deep insight and knowledge gained through his extensive career in aviation, maneuvering through various cycles of the industry, are pertinent to our business. GA Telesis MRO Services Group Receives B737NG Landing Gear Certification from the FAA
GA Telesis announced it received its Boeing 737NG landing gear certification from the United States Federal Aviation Administration. This new rating allows GA Telesis MRO Services to repair and overhaul Boeing 737NG landing gears. The Company has elected to make a substantial investment in growing its MRO Services footprint and will invest in the latest equipment, tooling, and plating technologies available for current and future generation aircraft models. Landing gear repairs and overhauls for this aircraft type will be carried out in the Miami facility located across from Miami International Airport and will support Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ job creation initiatives creating a significant number of new high-tech jobs.
Silver Airways Introduces New State-of-the-Art ATR-600 Series Aircraft in the Caribbean
Silver Airways is introducing its new state-of-the-art ATR-600 series aircraft in the Caribbean. Silver is scheduled to launch a total of four new ATR-600 series aircraft in its Caribbean operation this year, including one ATR 72-600 starting March 4, 2020, one ATR 42-600 in April, one ATR 42-600 in June and one ATR 42-600 in July. “This is an exciting time for Silver Airways and regional airline flying as we continue our fleet transformation and focus on providing the highest level of safe, reliable and customer-friendly service,” said Silver Airways CEO Steve Rossum. “Starting operations of the new ATR 72-600 aircraft in the Caribbean from our San Juan gateway is another great milestone for Silver Airways, ATR, our customers, our airline partners, the communities we serve and our team members.”
