Azorra Delivers First Airbus A220-300 to AnimaWings

Azorra has successfully delivered the first of four Airbus A220-300s to AnimaWings, marking a significant milestone as the first aircraft of its type in Romania. This next-generation aircraft will support AnimaWings’ growth strategy, enabling new routes across Europe and the Middle East.

Azorra CEO and Founder, John Evans, highlighted the delivery as a testament to the strong relationship between Azorra and Airbus, emphasising the unmatched performance and efficiency of the A220-300. The aircraft is set to play a pivotal role in AnimaWings’ fleet modernisation and expansion plans, strengthening its market position in the region.

 

Global Crossing Airlines and ATB Aviation Announce APAC Joint Venture

Global Crossing Airlines Group has partnered with ATB Aviation to establish a new airline based in Melbourne, Australia. This joint venture will operate a fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft, with operations expected to commence in late 2025, pending regulatory approvals and the issuance of an Australian Air Operator Certificate (AOC).

GlobalX President and CFO, Ryan Goepel, expressed excitement about entering the APAC market, citing its untapped potential. The collaboration combines GlobalX’s innovative charter and ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) model with ATB Aviation’s local expertise, setting a strong foundation for the venture’s success.

 

Pratt & Whitney GTF Engine Secures FAA Certification for A321XLR

Pratt & Whitney has received FAA certification for its GTF engine to power the Airbus A321XLR, marking a key milestone for the engine program. The certification expands the PW1100G-JM engine’s type certificate to include the A321XLR, a highly anticipated aircraft that offers longer range and increased payload capacity.

Rick Deurloo, President of Commercial Engines at Pratt & Whitney, highlighted the engine’s industry-leading fuel efficiency and low carbon emissions. With 13 customers selecting the GTF engine to power 217 A321XLR aircraft, the certification reinforces Pratt & Whitney’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in aviation.
