Air Canada & Emirates Announce Partnership
To seize opportunties in the post Covid environment Air Canada & Emirates announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement to offer connections from their respective hubs and networks. Emirates Airlines President Sir Tim Clark said "This is a significant partnership that will enable our customers access to even more destinations in Canada and the Americas, via our Toronto and US gateways. It also opens up many new route combinations for travellers across Emirates' and Air Canada's extensive networks in the Americas, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. We are pleased to partner with Air Canada, one of North America's most established airlines and Canada's flag carrier and we look forward to jointly progressing on various areas to provide even better customer flight choices and experiences."
Canadian North appoints CEO
Canadian North Airlines announced the appointment of Michael Rodyniuk as President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian North, effective 15 July. Canadian North Executive Chairman Johnny Adams said “We look forward to the knowledge, insight and leadership abilities that Michael will bring to our organization as we focus on improving our business in a post-pandemic environment.”
Connect Airlines Receives US DOT Airline Certificate
Connect Airlines announced that it has been issued its airline operating certificate by US Department of Transport (DOT). The certificate allows Connect to engage in interstate scheduled air transportation once it has completed Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) required proving runs. The proving runs are scheduled to begin 18 and last approximately four weeks.
MONTE and Dovetail Announce Strategic Alliance
MONTE announced that it has a signed a strategic alliance with Dovetail Electric Aviation to offer zero-emission conversions to the growing regional turboprop market. Under the agreement, MONTE will purchase up to 50 powertrains to enable battery-electric conversions on new and existing Cessna Caravan aircraft, and hydrogen-electric conversions on new and existing Beechcraft King Air aircraft. Dovetail is targeting certification of the battery-electric powered aircraft by 2025.
Sky Leasing announces LATAM Sale & Lease Back Transaction
US based lessor SKY Leasing announced it has completed the sale and leaseback of the first of ten A320neo family aircraft subject to long term lease with Latam.
