American Airlines Announces New Routes from Miami This Winter American Airlines will continue to grow its footprint at its largest international gateway, Miami International Airport (MIA), adding two new international destinations and six new domestic routes. With today’s announcement, American further solidifies its position as the largest airline at MIA, operating 341 peak daily flights this winter. Vice President of MIA Hub Operations Juan Carlos Liscano said “With more than 30 years of service, American is and will always be Miami’s hometown airline, and we are proud to strengthen our footprint at our MIA hub later this year. New service to Tel Aviv, Paramaribo, Chetumal and San Andres, and more domestic flying this winter, are a testament of our commitment to the economic development of our community as it continues to grow and diversify.” Castlelake Provides Financing to Turkish Airlines Castlelake announced it has provided a loan package to Turkish Airlines, secured by three new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and one new 737 MAX 9 aircraft.  Partner at Castlelake and head of the firm's lending strategy Armin Rothauser said "We're pleased to be able to support Turkish Airlines, one of world's largest airlines, as it continues to enhance its fleet capabilities with advanced, efficient aircraft. GA Telesis Announces Signing of Repair Management Agreement with Air Astana GA Telesis announced the signing of a Repair Management agreement with Air Astana. The agreement covers repair services for spare parts, components, and tooling in support of the Air Astana fleet, which encompasses Boeing 767, Airbus A320/A321, and Embraer EMB190 aircraft types. SAS increases flights from Scandinavia to the United States SAS will finally be operating on all its US destinations when it resumes direct routes to Boston in September and flights to Miami in October. The airline its  first A321LR aircraft will operate the Copenhagen to Boston route in September. SAS will increase the number of flights from Copenhagen to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington DC starting in September. Effective fom 1st October the carrier will resume service to Miami from Copenhagen and Stockholm respectively. Towards the end of October, Miami will be served daily with three weekly flights from Copenhagen and Stockholm respectively as well as once weekly from Oslo United Adds Nearly 150 Flights to Warm-Weather Cities This Winter As demand for travel continues to build, United Airlines is expecting the resurgence to continue for winter holiday travel and is planning ahead by increasing service to cities in the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. The airline will add nearly 150 flights to warm-weather destinations across the U.S and is increasing service to Latin beach and leisure markets by 30% compared to 2019. The airline will fly 137 more flights than it did in 2019 to places like Florida, California, Arizona, Georgia and Nevada starting this November through next March. WestJet announces new Chief Operating Officer Diederik Pen and appoints new Chief Safety, Health and Environment Officer Robert Antoniuk WestJet announced the appointment of a new Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Diederik Pen, who will join the airline’s executive leadership team in the early fall, following the completion of the immigration process.
