AAR announces multi-year agreement with United Airlines for heavy maintenance services in Rockford, IL
AAR has signed a multi-year agreement to perform airframe maintenance on United Airlines’ narrow-body aircraft fleet at its MRO facility in Rockford, IL. This agreement supports the continued growth of the facility and the local Rockford workforce. AAR also supports airframe maintenance work for United at its facility in Miami, Florida. AAR expects to add up to 250 high quality, year-round aviation maintenance technician jobs in Rockford over the next few years.
Air Lease Corporation Announces Delivery of Two New Boeing 787-9 Aircraft to China Southern Airlines
Air Lease Corporation announced the delivery of two new Boeing 787-9 aircraft on long-term lease to China Southern Airlines. Featuring GEnx-1B76A engines, these new Dreamliner aircraft are the fourth and fifth of five new 787-9s to deliver to China Southern Airlines from ALC’s order book with Boeing.
Delta expands Airbus A321neo fleet
Delta and Airbus have agreed to add incremental aircraft to Delta’s order book of cutting-edge, safe, reliable and lower-emissions aircraft by converting purchase rights for 25 A321neo aircraft into firm orders, and replenishing Delta’s purchase rights. Delta and Airbus also have agreed to move up two existing A350-900 and one A330-900neo deliveries to occur in the second half of 2022. Delta’s Senior Vice President – Fleet and TechOps Supply Chain Mahendra Nair said “We thank Airbus for their steadfast partnership during the pandemic and look forward to working with them as we take delivery of the A321neo as well as our accelerated A350 and A330-900neo deliveries.”
GA Telesis Engine Services Expands CFM International MRO Partnership to LEAP-1A/-1B Engines
GA Telesis Engine Services announces the signing of an agreement with CFM International (CFM) to provide MRO support for LEAP-1A/-1B engines. Through this agreement, GATES will have the rights and licenses to obtain airworthiness authority certification for MRO services on the LEAP-1A, which powers the Airbus A320neo
GECAS Arranges Purchase Leaseback Agreements with IndiGo for 14 Airbus Neos
GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) along with the ventures it services have agreed a Purchase/Leaseback (PLB) arrangement for 14 LEAP-powered Airbus neo aircraft with IndiGo. The seven A320neo and seven A321neo are scheduled to deliver between the fourth quarter of 2021 and the middle of 2022.
Global Crossing Airlines Announces US$10 Million Financing with Ascent Global Logistics, Inc
Global Crossing Airlines Group announce a $10 million equity offering from Ascent Global Logistics, Inc. Ascent is a leading logistics, transportation and supply chain solutions provider. Ascent-On-Demand operates the largest domestic expedited air charter operation in North America, as well as USA Jet and Rambler Air, airlines in the US with more than 30 aircraft in total. The Chair and CEO of GlobalX Ed Wegel said "We are delighted to welcome Ascent to our investor group. Their investment signals their strong confidence in the management team and our strategic plan, and the funds will be used to accelerate our growth with additional A320s added to our fleet in 2021 and to prepare for A321 freighter aircraft later this year. As well, we see strong synergies with Ascent's logistics capabilities and robust freight network."
