Air Canada and Mexico’s Aeromar Form Interline Partnership
Air Canada and Aeromar have announced the launch of an interline partnership that offers seamless connectivity for customers between destinations in Mexico and Air Canada’s global network via Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta and Cancun. The airlines are also committed to exploring deeper cooperation in the form of a codeshare relationship and are currently working on the launch of Aeromar as a partner of Air Canada’s Aeroplan program. Expected to be in place before summer 2022, this cooperation will be Aeroplan’s only partner airline based in Mexico.
JMC Group contracted to work with Boeing at Gatwick
JMC Group will commence work in late April on a two-year programme supporting Boeing at its Gatwick Airport MRO facility. JMC engineers will partner with Boeing on Boeing 737-800 passenger to freighter conversions. A new dedicated conversion line at Boeing’s Gatwick hangar has been established for the work, as demand for narrow-body freighters continues to grow.
Sun Country Inc Completes Private Offering of $188,277,000 Enhanced Equipment Trust Certificates
Sun Country Inc announced the completion of an offering of Enhanced Equipment Trust Certificates which will be used to obtain financing secured by 13 Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Five of the 13 aircraft are currently owned and are being refinanced, two of the aircraft are currently owned outright, four of the aircraft are expected to be acquired on or about the initial funding date, and the remaining two aircraft are under lease and are to be purchased from the lessors under purchase options in the respective lease contracts. Sun Country received gross proceeds of $172,507,000 in respect of 12 of the aircraft and expects to receive an additional $15,770,000 of gross proceeds in respect of the thirteenth aircraft on or before 15TH September.
Vista strengthens its global and U.S. leadership with the acquisition of Jet Edge's platform
Vista Global Holding (Vista) announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the private aviation services platform of Jet Edge, the fastest-growing North American charter operator. In accord with U.S. DOT requirements, Vista will acquire Jet Edge aircraft, hospitality, and maintenance facilities, while its U.S. strategic operating partner XOJET Aviation will acquire a majority stake of the Part 135 certificates of Jet Select and Western Air Charter. Vista’s Founder and Chairman Thomas Flohr stated “Our vision is to provide the best services, anytime and anywhere, for every client. Bringing Jet Edge, the fastest-growing large-cabin and super-mid on demand company in the U.S., into the Group scales up our presence in North America, giving Vista the opportunity to turbocharge growth in the most dynamic business aviation market.”
Wings Announces Aircraft Acquisitions
Wings Capital Partners announced the purchase of two narrowbody commercial aircraft, adding one Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft and one Airbus A321-200 aircraft to its portfolio. This transaction, coupled with other recent acquisitions, has added seven narrowbody aircraft to the Wings portfolio over the last two quarters. Each of the newly purchased aircraft are on lease to prominent airlines in Europe and the United States.
